Great way to end an evening of driving. It was a very nice, quiet hike around the lake.

Beautiful short hike on a gravel/asphalt wide level trail. Lots of opportunities for kiddos & dogs to climb on dead trees, and walk across a foot bridge. No bugs, got to watch a few fisherman reel in trout. Absolute gorgeous day & highly recommend this hike for families with small children- you can even push a sturdy stroller along the well- maintained path.

I grew up near this lake. It is a beautiful place to hike or swim.

My family loved this easy hike around Magone lake. We got to watch two beavers. They have fallen trees all around the lake. It's really beautiful. You can see large trees that are halfway chewed through by beavers. The drive up was fun. Open range cattle are abundant along the road, sometimes in the road. Very fun trip.

This trail actually located S/O Prarie City apporx 16 miles. Is a steep trail. Joins up with Sunshine Flat at the head of Glacier Basin. Area was burned in 86 & 88. There are a couple more trails in the area Rail Cr I cannot think of the other. There is light use of these trails. Mostly during hunting season with some horse & atv traffic. No maintance. Could be lots of downed tree & rocks to obstruct. Apporx 6 miles to Call Cr Trail

We completed a section of this trail (ending at Dean Creek) in the beginning of June, 2012, and it became one of our favorite trails. The views are amazing, and there was some sections where the flowers were blooming in full power, and there was also lots of strawberry plants right by the trail (unfortunatelly, no strawberries in June...).
This section is fairly easy to complete, execept for some logs that cut the trail and may require some scrambling.
There are a few camping spots by Dean Creek (where you see a fairly big waterfall), and the view from those are very unforgettable. We reccomend waking up early to watch the sunrise from the area on the other side of the trail from the campsite.
There is a lot of water sources avaliable if you are taking the longer backpack trip.
We also took our dog on this trip, and she loved it. Definitelly reccomend.
