Did the hike Clockwise made the hike up seem a little less steep (less switchbacks) Saw no one on the loop trail started about 330 in the afternoon and took about 3 hours including the Island of time trail. Definitely a must do hike. Could be really hot no shade but not today

Would definitely recommend this hike. Decent uphill hike with amazing views from the top. No shade so on hot days be prepared. Dog friendly but has pretty narrow trails at some spots with steep drops so I would recommend a leash. Overall very nice hike!

03/22/20: Topography, fossils and rock formations are all spectacular. For those social distancing, this was a hard place to do so this last weekend. Very crowded, and not a surprise! Such a gorgeous visit.

So pretty! Was easy to miss the trail off to the right, and get veered to Island in Time Trail... steep and requires some breaks but the view is worth it! Really enjoyed this hike!

Amazing hike! I would agree with going right at the trailhead. See all the beauty first then just enjoy the rest of the hike. Amazing views. Pack layers this time of year. Must do the whole loop, you wont regret it!

This is one of five beautiful little trails that can be explored in the Painted Hills. Short and sweet as it is, this one is actually the second longest trail, after Carroll Rim Trail. It also offers some of the prettiest views of the colorful hills. Kid-friendly, easy jaunt.

This is one of the most beautiful of the short little touristy trails at the painted hills. There is a "wooden" walk that goes around the majority of this short loop, and there are lots of interesting signs with interesting information. The colors are absolutely amazing and beautiful. The whole area is pretty kid-friendly and dog-friendly. But it's important to stay on the trail to protect the natural beauty.

The painted hills are beautiful. This short trail offers some decent views and a chance to see some fossils. It's a very short, kid-friendly loop. Best to bring sunscreen if planning to explore all of the other trails..everything is pretty exposed.

The painted hills are a sight to see, and this is a cool little trail. It's a super short and easy hike with some pretty views. Kid friendly, easy to locate.

Great trail. expansive views throughout the entire hike. beautiful colors and interesting geological formations. not hard but not too easy. just right.

Lovely morning hike. Did it counter clockwise, happy we did.

stunning! This hike is great, steep uphill, but is made worth it for the views.

Nice trail, overlooking the painted hills, other trails which go closer are nicer though imho

Lots of great views at the top, make sure to bring a hat.

Easy walk but go early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid the scorching sun.

It’s pretty exposed, bring water. I went right. Did the short trail and back out to the turn and around. I recommend going this way because the view seems to be in front of you. The greenish color was pretty obvious in the morning sun, but looks kinda brown in my pictures. It’s steep but reasonable distance.

This is a very gentle trail with some close views of the hills. The flowers were in bloom and it was beautiful at sunrise. If you’re hiking the area start here for a nice easy warm up

The colors here were amazing! Yes, it’s a super short hike, but I don’t think that is a drawback. Love the interpretive signage, and being able to see the texture of the otherworldly hills up close! Please stay on the path, and keep your dogs on the path too. There were so many footprints off the trail, and those damage the area for a long time. And LOTS of mosquitoes in early June!

Probably the best on-trail views of the Painted Hills as a whole area. Love the benches, and the different perspectives that the trail offers!

I know many people who think this area doesn’t live up to the hype, but if you’re a geology and a photography nerd like I am, I think you will be very pleased with the Painted Hills! This trail, though short, has some really cool photography opportunities and when the sun lights up the big red hill, it’s incredible! Really big heavy the last time I did it though, bring your bug spray and keep your car doors shut. We had probably around 200 mosquitoes trying to get through the car’s rear windshield in early June!
