Just south of Cannon Beach, this little wayside gives you easy access to the beach and a peek at some interesting history. Imagine travelling by stagecoach along the beach (before the highway was built, the beach was the only way to go). North of the parking area you can still walk along the original trail carved into the point by the stagecoaches. The wayside was named after this trail because it hugs the point. Looking further north, Haystack Rockone of the most identifiable landmarks along the coastlineis easily visible. Caution to visitors; be aware of the tide! It is possible to become stranded at high tide when exploring the point. Take a look at the stagecoach trail, the view of Haystack Rock and the two caves around the point, but have a plan. Pick up a tide book at one of the local shops: have fun and be safe.

First beach was crowded, but as you hike north crowds thin out. Interesting caves and little waterfall. Once you get around the point, you’ll have lots of beach to explore w/o crowds. Take your shoes off and get your feet wet!

Pretty. Beach was very crowded so we took some trails off the side of the parking lot. Rugged but our 8 year old could manage. Even better views from up there!

Beautiful! A waterfall, lots of little caves to explore, tide pools, and an old road carved into the side of the rocks! CHECK
THE TIDE CALENDAR before you venture off so that you don’t get stuck !

Beautiful! What's better than the ocean and a waterfall combined?! You've got to check the tide times to make sure you get in when the water is not too high. My husband and I took photos and watched the sunset together. Beyond gorgeous!

We thought this beach was underwhelming at most. Visited many beaches along the Cali/Oregon coast and if your doing the coastal drive we say skip this one.

Very easy, great at low tide. Tide pools had really interesting marine life. Great for all skill levels.

beautiful day and gorgeous views

Our family loves this place. It's one of our favorites.

An easy and lovely hike. Just make sure to check the tides before you go. High tide cuts off hair the trail unless you’re willing to get wet.

It's beautiful, but as others have said it can get quite crowded! But if your into that, have at it!

Crowded. You can walk up rocks over a waterfall, inside a small cave, and even out over some clams.

This is one of my favorite destinations when on the Oregon coast. It's best at low tide as you can access so much beach! Great adventure for the whole family.

The mini waterfall is very pretty. Hike up onto the old wagon road. (Very, very easy "hike" more like walk on the beach. I have 4 kids with me; 15, 13, 8 and a 6 month old baby in a pack.)

Great area to check out on the coast and show the kids something different they've maybe never seen.

Gorgeous. Go early to avoid the people.

beautiful! Only thing I would say is to pay attention to the tide if crossing the rocks to go to the beaches to the north. We ended up having to walk through knee deep water to get back across.

Nice little outing to stop at if you are passing through. People need to clean up after them selves trash and dog poopy bags scattered here and there.

Super awesome!!

Not exactly a trail, more like a walk on the beach, a very beautiful beach with a waterfall on it!

Worth the little walk.

Couldn't for the life of me find the actual trail. Still very beautiful views!

absolutely stunning scenery.

Beautiful but confusing GPS to a trailhead seems mostly beach we almost walked all the way to haystack rock and all the side trails to lookout still didn't seem like 3 miles

Beautiful and easy.

Nice and quiet. One of the most beautiful places in Seaside.

I'd hardly call it a hike--it's more like an amazing giant park. Went with my fam and another; five grown ups and 6 kids total and had the best time of the fall here in 2013. Oh did I mention it's amazing?

Really a very nice peaceful flat hike. All sand hiking with our shoes off and getting some beautiful rocky ocean views. Plenty of fun little caves to explore and coves to have a fire in if you care to after. Even a few geocaches nearby.

Hug Point is a beautiful place to explore and have fun. There are some caves, and waterfall, and good tide-pooling. Very fun for families
