I was a little turned around. Walked along the lake and connected with the Oregon Coast Trail. Although the trail didn't appear to be old growth it had the expected mossy, damp, drippy fern feel I love. The trail seemed more like an old logging road it was so wide. I could hear the waves but couldn't see them. Atone point the trail veers of to the right but I missed it. I double backed and found another sign for the OCT and took it. It went over a couple of foot Bridges and then dumped me on to a beach. The trail then becomes overgrown that I turned back. Sounds like I should have pushed through to make it to the waterfall. Oh well.

Did this one today after doing a few before. Unfortunately Brook and I were still going after the phone died and I didn't get to lay down a track. I enjoy this area because you can get a good stretch on your legs without climbing much. Only regret was I didn't bring a rod for the trout in the lake and I ran out of daylight. Brook had a blast! And just so you know the little store at Langlois has incredible hot dogs and growlers for $5... Where else on earth has that? Try 'em.......

Very enjoyable trail today. Didn't appreciate the new ugly fence at the airport since i was there last. There was a very dangerous part on the OCT that I didn't appreciate much. After about 4 miles with my dog we got close to the ocean and she was excited and is used to running on sandy trails to the beach. This one was about a hundred foot drop. She stopped in time.... I put a few pieces of wood on the end as a warning. Hopefully people will leave it there... Saw a few hikers and bikers out... Unusually flat ocean today.

I cant say how much I loved this trail! a flat and easy couple of miles to the ocean and then bam! a breathtaking ocean view. you can explore the ocean cliffs and cove for hours. a bit steep going down to the beach, but it wasn't a problem for us (we are both able-bodied adults). the path around the cliffs is totally flat though. we found a driftwood castle to eat lunch in, and were greeted by sea otters coming in with the tide! this place was seriously magical.

This trail is relatively easy, mostly through the forest until the great view at the end! You can also walk down to the beach, which I would highly recommend if the weather permits. Loved this hike!

Great trail, but a bit on the easy side. it was a bit foggy, but I'm sure the view is breathtaking when it's clear! nicely groomed trail. Good trail for a family hike.

The wildflowers are in full bloom. Go now to see them! It was a very windy day, but the sky was sunny and clear. The bed of wildflowers and spectacular view from the top are breathtaking. The next few days should be equally as beautiful. You don’t want to miss this spot!

10/10 views at sunset, pretty easy stroll in the woods and on the cliffs

Fun day hike/picnic for the whole family. Can’t wait to do it again!

I absolutely love this walk!!

This was a nice easy trail. We have 4 children ages ranging from 3-7 and they walked the whole way!

A very nice spot on the Oregon coast with a scramble atop Blacklock Point, an eroded headland with excellent views of the coastline. A bounty of Boletes if you hit it in the fall

This was a great hike! So many different things to see. We started off at the Floras lake trail head and went around the Lake and connected with the coastal trail. When we were on the coastal trail we walked through some beautiful forest where we were blocked from the wind. From the coastal trail we took a slight detour onto a slightly overgrown pathway. That pathway led us to the beach where we walked down the coast as far as we could go, almost to Blacklock. At the very end was a waterfall and rocks to climb and adventure on. As we walked along the beach there were lots of cool rocks and archways to explore as well. Great hike for our dog as well! She got super tired. Overall a win!

Nice trail that I will end up doing again. Nice views of the small lake with options to hit the beach or go further on down the Oregon Coast trail. A nice option would be to link up with the Blacklock Pt Trail which I've done before.. It makes sense that there would be an option to loop the lake as well but I don't see it on any maps yet at the beginning I noticed a trail going the opposite direction..... next time.

Very boring hike I did along with the Floras Lake hike. I hiked several different trails all day today and the battery on my camera finally went dead. Very long straight stretches of nada. Gorgeous open ocean views near the end but the wind was howling about 30 knots. Surprising how many people were on the trail, though. Doubtful that I'll repeat this one.

Went way more than 2.3 miles from the trail head and didn't reach the lake and neither does the track shown... Very boring straight trail with a surprising amount of people on it and many dogs including my 2. After a couple of miles the trail just petered out after crossing what use to be a bridge in a low spot.

The trail itself from the Cape Blanco airport isn't very exciting, flat and a lot of dense ocean shrubbery, but the viewpoints and topography at the end is well worth the hike.

Kinda boring trail, unless you're in to plants. But the payoff at the end is extraordinary. What a view!

I took the long way from Floras Lake down the beach along the cliffs to Blacklock Point. The waterfall was barely wet.

beautiful trail. The views of the ocean were spectacular!

Oh, and a side note. When you choose directions on this app is sends you to what I assume is a different trailhead. It was quite a ways away across 101 to the east. We googled the Cape Blanco Airport and started there.

We hiked from the parking lot by the airport to Blacklock Point and back and it measured 2.8 miles round trip. I recorded the track one way but it saved under Floras Lake Trail. We hiked it 3/19/16 on a foggy drizzling day. There was a lot of standing water on the trail in many places.

I imagine the view would be gorgeous on a clear day. There is a lot of flat ground when you reach the cliffs overlooking the ocean. It would be a perfect place to have a picnic.

The hike was very easy, dog friendly and would be kid friendly too. (We only had our dog with us).
