I gave the trail review 3 stars because the terrain and other information was as discriped. Seeing the falls was nice and there were a couple other nice views along the way. Otherall thought I would say it as a little boring and I opted to double back instead of continuing to loop back on the forest service load. on the other side, it may be a good walk for dogs?

Beautiful hike! Still a lot of snow. Had to punch through and trail find, but it was great!

Nice walk. The trail needs to be marked better. Don’t leave main trail by taking trail along river as it ends suddenly.Learned the hard way. Surprised there is not much traffic on the trail from Sunriver. River views are awesome. .

Pretty intense hike up. Not a whole lot of flat level hiking, mostly either up or down. The first part of the trail is forested and breaking views of Mt Washington and Three Fingered Jack. The second part of the trail is fairly rocky and dirt with great views of Brokentop and 2 of the 3 Sister mountains. The last bit of the trail was pretty rocky and rough, but the views from the top are absolutely stunning! Well worth it!

5/20/18: Amazing hike with great views. Still a lot of snow (~4-5 foot drifts). Might need to wait a little later in the season to get easier access to the trails.

Beautiful. Trail is very well-maintained

Short hike that was great for our group with small kids. Beautiful views at the top. It was a very windy day so conditions from bottom to top varied.

This was a great day hike. Just park at the trailhead sign and begin walking. The trail was marked with blue diamond tags nailed to the trees, and was very easy to follow. There is a bathroom at the trail head and a the falls. Our 5 and 7 years olds made the 7 mile trip with ease. Picnic tables at the falls for a fun outdoor lunch. Have fun and enjoy the views!

Great trail for a recovery run. Absolutely beautiful!

The way up is a steep incline. Your quad day will be complete after this hike. Beautiful views at the top of surrounding mountains . Well worth it. Coming down is a piece of cake.

Easy peasy

Very cute hike. Not much challenge other than walking up hill for a mile. On a clear day there’s an amazing 360 view of the landscape! It’s definitely worth doing again!

This was a great hike, the gate was open and we were able to drive up to the trailhead. it was very, very heavily used. parking was a nightmare. the falls were beautiful and once you got past the initial falls there were fewer people. had to turn back after a few miles because of ankle deep snow on the trail but a very nice morning hike.

Nature is so beautiful on this trail! We hiked up to the falls and higher up got to hike in the snow! Lower trail next just fresh air and scenery. Very family friendly, parking not great fills up fast a lot of cars parking on road and instead. Very happy pets on trails too!

We took this trail yesterday with cruising bikes, (not ideal for trail riding) and had no trouble! It's an easy, paved trail most of the time, a few gradual, longer inclines, but manageable. It eventually turns into a dirt path before the falls, but still very manageable. The river views start out with wide, calm waters and eventually narrow into powerful, raging glory. So beautiful. I think the river was extra full and glorious from snow melt this week. Highly recommend.

Wife and I hit it together not much traffic on it. Great easy trail to clock some miles on. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful views at he top and it’s worth the hike to get there are see them. Easy morning is best in summer to avoid crowds. Will be doing this hike again, beautiful and fabulous exercise. Would plan 3-4 hours.

Just a little snow at the top! Great hike.

Great hike through the forest and along the river! Nice views of waterfalls, rapids and lava flow across the river. Nice views of Mt Bachelor and Broken Top in a few spots too. A little muddy in spots, but it's early April. Trade off is no mosquitoes yet! Yay! Pretty easy hike overall.

Great views of the falls with multiple photo opportunities. Very short hike, more of a viewpoint than a hike. Only took us about 10 minutes to get to the falls.

Ignore my stars.. I just wanted to give an update on the road conditions. We tried getting to the trail head yesterday and found quite a bit of snow still on the road heading to the trailhead. We were traveling in a 4WD crossover, which did fine, but the snow progressively increased and the road narrows with 3 miles still to go. We decided to turn back in case it became too deep and we didn’t have the ability to turn around down the road. It would be passable with snow tires or maybe a little bit bigger car. In reality our car would have probably done fine but it made me a little nervous. We will definitely be back to do this hike in the future!

Completed this hike on our Vacation last week! Just came in on the gravel road side of the trail and it was easy to walk and great views! Worth doing if you are there!

Beautiful hike with mild very gradual elevation gain and stunning waterfall at the end! There is a snowmobile trail that also leads to the falls, so be sure you find the trail through the woods off to the side of the snowmobile trail so you can enjoy the beautiful forest. The snowshoeing or cross country skiing trail is a little hard to find from the very start, but is easily visible from the cabin just a few feet up the snowmobile trail. The forest trail is also well marked with blue diamonds on the trail throughout the entirety. Highly recommend also checking out the lower falls viewpoint only 1/4 mile down in addition to upper level lookout. Of note, you need a Sno Park pass to park for this hike which we didn’t find listed anywhere else!

Awesome trail - easy to follow, great beginner snowshoe, but spectacular views make it perfect for all levels of skill. Didn’t do the loop - just went out and back on the trail side, decided to nix the road section. Lots of fresh powder as of today, but it won’t last long!

This is a great winter get away!! Close to Bend and a good cross country ski!! On the weekend it is really crowded, but on the week day it is a good choice!! The views are spectacular and if you like waterfalls it is a must see!!

One of my favorite hikes! Went in early July, great views with lots of butterflies and blooming flowers! Bit of an incline to the top but it’s well worth it.
