The Cedar Grove Botanical Area is located off Fields Peak Road between Mt. Vernon and Dayville, OR on Forest Road 2150. The area is unique in that it has the only stand of Alaska Yellow Cedar Trees for several hundred miles around. There are alot of wildflowers blooming this time of year which made the trip really nice. There are trail markers pointing out several different kinds of wildflowers. The trail starts across the road from the parking area and descends downhill all the way to a short loop at the end of the trail. The ascent up is fairly steep most of the way. The trail crosses a creek twice and had good foot bridges over the creek. It made for a nice little hike!
