Can’t beat this trail. So beautiful!

Solid hike. Not easy but not too hard either. Great view at the top and an easy trot down.

A great trail to do with families - ending with a beautiful view of Portland! There’s the witches house, a heritage tree, and Pittock Mansion all in one hike! This trail has some good elevation gain, but nothing that should deter anyone from hiking up it. It’s almost entirely single packed down dirt with a few road crossings.

Good steady climb up for 2.5 miles- especially the last mile-until you get to the Mansion and gardens. Great place to take a quick break and enjoy the view of Portland on the river. A good but slightly technical trail to run down as it has numerous switchbacks and a few washouts on the edges of the trail. You can hike up in 45-50 minutes and run down in 15:00-25:00 depending g on your skill level and crowds that day. Pretty well shaded 90% of time and water /restrooms available at start. Parking a bit dicey after work and on weekends and don’t leave valuables in the car.

Quick easy access from the city to make you feel like you have escaped the city in just minutes. Very pretty, not crowded, tons of trees, you can go as far as you want or as little as you want.

Very easy, very beautiful! Super neat Witches Castle and the Audubon Society along the way. Great views at Pittock Mansion and lots of pretty flowers!

steady climb to the top and the view is worth it.

This trail was awesome! It had several other little trails branching off to different places but AllTrails map lead us right to where we wanted to go with the gps setting. Great view from top, as well as in the wooded section to/from the mansion.

A decent trail going up and the views from Pittock Mansion are unequaled - but the trail signs can be a little confusing especially if you are running down and you have to decide quickly upon the right course. I gave it a 3 for that reason but 3 1/2 stars is more accurate. I’ll do it again but this time either finish well before 3/3:30 pm or hang around until after rush hour as the roads around it (205/84/30/I-5) are miserable parking lots between 3-6:30pm.

Beautiful trail & would recommend taking a tour of Pittock Mansion at the top! Stunning views of the city.

beautiful hike but def not wheelchair accessible. brought our stroller and went a little ways but had to turn around. next time we will bring the ergo. would rate higher if you could take a stroller.

Only walked halfway, but it was incredible

very nice area to hike.

Great trail. Pretty easy to get up to Pittock Mansion. Nice place to have a picnic then come down. Good for dogs, kids. Well trafficked - feels pretty safe.

Super popular, beautiful hike right on the edge of the city. Great for kids.

This is an awesome hike. The trees keep you dry when it’s raining out. The trail was a little wet but not bad.

Awesome view at the top!! Popular place in summer.. carpool for sure!

For an experienced, not recently active, hiker like myself, this trail was very easy and mellow. Took the time to take pictures and subtracting that it was about 20 minutes start to end. Not accessible by wheelchair or other mobile device BUT potentially accessible for cane or walking stick users except those who dont do well with some elevation, rocks, and mud. Good starting trail to see how this app rated trails but definitely will go for hard level to have some challenge. A good overall 3.5/5 for me.

Mostly dry

99% dry. Great hike! Definitely recommend!

Great trail in the forest. The view at the end is really worth the effort of the climb.

Muddy and very crowded. Come early

The Mrs. and Me crusted this! Great Easter Morning hike!

Beautiful hike right in the heart of city that will make you feel like you’re out in the forest. I went on a day when there hadn’t been rain for a few days and the trail was still very muddy and slippery in parts. Worth the views and scenery, but wear some grippy shoes for the mud.
