Located near the Oklahoma/Arkansas border in the scenic Ozark Highlands region of northeast Oklahoma, Natural Falls State Park features a 77-foot waterfall cascading through rock formations and creating a hidden, serene atmosphere at the bottom of a narrow V-shaped valley. A railed observation platform allows hikers to overlook the falls and another observation deck with seating is located at the foot of the falls offering two vantage points to enjoy one of the most scenic wonders in the state. The beautiful scenery looks familiar to many visitors because scenes from the 1974 movie, "Where the Red Fern Grows" were filmed in the park. Picnic tables and grills can be found throughout Natural Falls State Park. Campsites including 44 RV sites and 27 tent sites are available along with a comfort station with showers. The Red Fern Reunion Center is available for group functions. Other amenities include a three-and-a-half mile hiking and nature trail, picnic shelter, volleyball, horseshoes, basketball court, catch and release fishing, playgrounds and a formal garden area. Pets are allowed on a leash only. Natural Falls State Park affords an opportunity to observe a variety of plant and animal life. The dense forest includes maples, chinquapin and white oaks, while plants such as flowering dogwood, sassafras, coral berry, spicebush, redbed, and pawpaw blanket the cool forest floor. The waterfall creates a moist environment where ferns, mosses, and liverworts thrive.

Absolutely loved! Trails are beautiful and well kept!

it was not that fun

Short but well worth the view

If you're already here doing the other 2 trails you should do this one as well. All 3 trails are quite different.

Fun area with natural waterfalls on dripping springs trail. Fox Den was much more challenging and less populated. Rock formations were worth the effort.

This was the first of three stops on a mini-road trip to OK, so we didn't spend as much time here as we might have liked. We did the main trail to/around the falls, and will absolutely be back to see it in the Spring or Summer. The falls are gorgeous, and the path to the little lake is quite pleasant.

Hike was great. We ended up walking around a few other trails but not to full completion. Views are beautiful. This was my first hike outside of my own town.

Beautiful park. Very kid friendly. Hiked part of the Dripping Springs Trail and the Fox Den Trail with my 3 year old right after a heavy rain. The views were incredible. Waterfall can be viewed from the top observation deck and from down below.

First half of the Dripping Springs Trail follows the creek. When we hit the little damn overflow, we took a right, crossed the creek and connected to the Fox Den Trail. The Fox Den Trail was mostly just wooded area. Wish we would of stayed on the Dripping Springs Trail although crossing the stones over the creek was lots of fun.

Highly recommend this hike, especially with kids. The entire park is very family friendly.

I loved this hike. I did the falls trail. It was gorgeous! I did not expect to be blown away but I was. The hike was easy. And there was a lot of scenery with it. It was a short 45 minute in and out but I was sweating on an 80 degree day. I would highly recommend this hike to anyone!

Had a lot of fun took the family only complaint is that when you get to the bottom of the falls there is a top hand rail but no middle one I tried to let my daughter walk around but was afraid she would fall the falls though were absolutely beautiful
