Trail was a little hard to find from the visitor center, but after that it was pretty easy to follow. Sometimes you had to walk up to the marker to find the next one. Nice hike, being the end of June it was very muggy and due to the lake being up some crossings were flooded. We were able to go up stream a little and find a crossing. The trail was overgrown and that caused ticks to be a problem, and we did spot a copperhead on the trail but it gave us no trouble when we safely detoured around it. This was a pretty nice trail. It would be better to hike during early spring or the fall.

This trail is in a heavily wooded area very rugged and lots of bogs. There is not one scenic part on this trail. Its also poorly marked we spent most of our hike trying to figure out where the trail was. Also heavily used by horses.

Way easy.

Ok maybe it’s my fault for wanting to hike the equestrian trail but it was extremely overgrown and very poorly marked. We lost the trail multiple times. We had a good day but I don’t think we will be back.

Fun little trail with Oklahoma trivia along the way!

We got a map from the office before we started. The map had trails marked 1, 2, 3. However, we encountered trails that were marked with colored paint as well as an occasional plastic ribbon tied to a tree. The trail was very poorly marked. In fact, we would not have been able to complete the hike if I had not downloaded the All Trails map. The trail was covered with leaves which added to the difficulty. This is also a horse trail. Muddy torn up trail in places and dried torn up trail in other places. The trail was pretty easy except for the issues described above. Probably won't go there again but we had fun.

Loved the trivia signs along the way. Nice areas to rest. Toddler did great. Saw some really interested armadillos, cacti, and red mushrooms.
