Great trail and shade! I will keep this trail on my list of best afternoon hikes.

There are some very steep parts for the first mile, that are not easy after rain or snow, poles help. This is a challenge for trail running and the last half is mostly downhill with some nice challenge for foot work. Add in Mingo Trail or even Valley and it’s a fun challenging run.

This trail is pretty challenging and has some pretty narrow single track. It is very steep in some parts, which is a nice challenge. It is well marked and you easily pick up other trails for a longer run

Trail map is incorrect. It features a very difficult 1.1 mile out and back. Lots of hills, rugged terrain, with portions of flatness. Very difficult for beginners.

Nice trail and plenty of shade, great for long runs. Two fountains just off the path

Nice trail, big hill at the beginning if going clockwise. As another person said it can be scary when it's windy. I can confirm that. Few times I had branches (some large) falling in front of and behind me. I would not recommend this on a windy day or if a storm is coming. Thankfully I beat the rain, but not the wind. Still some mud up at the Hawkins area as well. Rest of trail was in good shape.

trail wasn't the same as on my app. I had difficulty finding and staying on trail. it seems to have disappeared. I ended up on Dogwood trail somehow. which was great and had some good hills. I would have recenters myself to find Mingo but I was short on time. will try again.

One of my all time favorite trails in the area. It can be a little challenging (elevation) for some younger and some older hikers but it's beautiful plus there aren't many trails around here that are at least moderately difficult. (Too bad a large section has been closed for years because it had so many sections that washed out.)

Good trail, not as much heavy traffic as some of the other trails and has some great inclines.

Very flat, but nice

So far my favorite trail at sand run. There are benches to enjoy beautiful views, lots of little critters along the way, periodic running water, and good elevation. I feel rejuvenated after this hike.

Great little trail among other long ones if you wish. Hills can be pretty steep. Lots of forest area and very well marked! Great trail!

I just want to point out that the picture of the water and bridge on this trail is not in the correct place. This is a loop with some exercise stations and some good elevation. If you like body weight exercises, and running/jogging, doing this one twice might be a great substitute for a day at cross fit. You definitely have to be the type to push yourself if you want to get anything out of the stations. Many times I have seen people working out with their dogs, which I think is pretty cool! If you want to make a day out of it, you can exit one side and walk down to the towpath, or exit the other side to the sand run jogging trail. Enjoy your Hike!!!

Great trail!!! Lots of elevation for good ole Ohio. About 1/3 of the way (or 2/3 of the way If you take the loop the other way) you get a nice view and good place to relax at the N. Hawkins Area (looks like a good sledding hill for Winter). The trail zig zags a big down the hill and it makes it pretty fun! Lots of tree cover to keep you out of the sun. Only bad things: 1) Spring and fall can be pretty muddy so wear boots that time of year. 2) Don’t go on a windy day. There are tons of trees everywhere. I went on a particularly windy day (well over 20 mph winds), and it was a pretty scary place to be. Best of luck, enjoy your hike!

Great spot for runners or walkers looking to cover distance. 1/2 of the trail has multiple park green spaces you can stop at. Great on nice weekend to see lots of people out and about get their steps in! If you are less of a runner and more of a hiker, you can go to the other side of the street if you start on the north portage path side. There they have some good hiking trails with good elevation changes, you have to ford a tiny creek, and you get some decent views. There are old trails that don’t look to be in action anymore that you can go explore if you are the adventurous type!

Really like this trail. It gives you a good work out with the inclines it offers. There is certain part where it can be muddy, Close to the Hawkins park area it’s the muddy part of the trail. really heavy deep mud after rain And takes a while for it to dry it up. You can bypass the part if you go through the field by the Hawkins Park area.

Lovely trail with some variations for those that want to stop and do the exercise segments . A bit muddy this time of year after the heavy rain, so be prepared! I loved the way the trail winded around the local hills, and there was lots of flora and fauna about. Took me around 30m to complete with the dog.

Very fun Good workout

Nice little walk. Most of the exercise stations are pretty dull, like doing arm circles or knee bends, but a couple are cool. Little bit of downhill and uphill.
