This route is an all dirt trail with fitness stations along the way. If the parking lot is closed for any reason, you can access the trail by parking in the Old Portage Shelter lot, cross the street and pick up the trail from there. It is entirely forested so has a good amount of shade.Show more

Accessibility: This concrete, packed gravel, dirt trail is estimated to typically be at least 6 feet wide. The slope is estimated to be moderately steep and range from -11% (downhill) to 11% (uphill) grade. The steepest sections, below 8% grade downhill, are estimated to be at about the 1.2, 4.2, and 4.8 through 4.9 mile marks. There are 2 ADA-designated car parking spots, 1 with an access aisle at the small paved trailhead lot. The most accessible portion of this trail according to the park website is the first half mile of this trail. The slope of this section is estimated to be mostly gentle to moderately steep and reach 7% grade up and downhill. Show more
