Overcrowded and you can always hear the traffic. There’s good elevation here but it’s not really anything special. I’m pretty bored with the Sand Run area. Too many people. Too many dogs. Too many perverts. Pretty to look at but not really a good hike.

Awesome hike!!! Great workout.

This trail would be more accurately described as moderate to difficult. Muddy sections after a rain; the trail crosses the Cuyahoga River and the towpath trail, as well as a few roads and trails in the Sand Run Park. Some sections are steep.

took my dog this morning and it was a good time. didnt enjoy the trailhead part that winds along the road, a bit too close to the trail and rather loud. The trail itself was nice and hilly, and parts of the trail were quite muddy.

it is rated difficult at the park when you get there but not bad, but very muddy in places.

Would definitely classify this as moderate, but loved the trail.

Great for running!

I love this trail. Big hills. I too, would rate this as moderate - not easy.

Great trail, diverse landscape and some pretty up and downs! Also a suspension bridge!

I've hiked this trail a number of times as it's right near my house. It's fairly rugged (for this area) on the section north of Sand Run Parkway. As you see on the map, it's pretty close to the Parkway coming and going, so traffic is always within ear shot. There's a section that's been re-routed through the Seiberling Nature Center park that's nicely wooded and a bit farther from the road. You'll probably have the trail to yourself as the Sand Run walk/ride path attracts most of the local walkers/runners. Poison ivy is an issue throughout the area in the summer.

Didn't notice the trail closes signs mentioned but did see a lot of great sites. A great workout and scenic trail

Beautiful hike, moderate diffculty, 600 ft in elevation change. would not be fun on a muddy day, so be prepared.

A part of this trail is closed and for good reason. The increased rain fall has been eroding away the river banks. Continue on this trail and you will be on unsafe, unstable ground.

Sink holes, freshly fallen trees, and loose dirt are abundant. Unless you are very comfortable navigating off trail and rerouting, do not go past the "trail closed" signs.

Awesome trail! Lots of hills and a pretty steady incline the whole 3 miles!

Great hike! Hilly. There was a sign where the north side of Minho trail crosses the road that says trail on the south side of the road is closed. However, many connecting trail options that are pretty well marked.

The inclines make for a nice workout. When you cross the road a second time, the trail is closed so we took the walking trail back. Still a pleasant hike for my puppy and me.

There were a lot of bugs and they were very aggressive and nasty today. Flew right into our mouths and eyes.

Too many bugs. Nice trail lots of hills

Very pretty trail with decent incline for the area. Not much by way of wildflowers, but you are surrounded by loads of beautiful green foliage and and an adorable chipmunk population scurrying about. Only downside was the fact that you have to cross a fairly busy road twice, and the waterfall is not so much of a "fall" as it is a two-foot drop.

Awesome day. Not to hot or to cool. First time hiking this trial. Some pretty good inclines that make for a good workout

My mother, my twin and I went on this trail. There were nice views, clean bathrooms, and we'll marked paths. we would come here again. This trail is good for it'd you are wanting to workout. There's also nice picnic tables to sit ands easy at stress you are done hiking. :-)

Had a great time. I took the primitive route and it was very rough, uneven and great :) I had to turn around before I finished due to time. Will definitely go back!

Scenic trail, heavily wooded and follows the river. Difficulty level; moderate. Was rainy when I went and saw no one else on the trail, which was nice. Good hike, I would do it again.

Thursday, October 31, 2013

Nice tree density that almost blocks out the occasional view of the road. Decent inclines are spread throughout the trail. A light rain augmented the tranquility and beauty of the area while perturbing the common hiker. Definitely worth checking it out.

really good trail. primitive and some nice inclines. few flat spots to allow you to run. quad burning lung busting! toughest trail I've been on in NEO. Going again!

Really enjoyed hiking Mingo Trail. It's quite hilly and primitive, so it was nice to have a more challenging trail than what I've been doing. Saw lots of chipmunks and a few deer. Loved walking along the water here and there.

This is the most difficult trail in the Summit Metro Parks. A section of it is classified as primitive. But if you want a work out....go for it. It is quite scenic(99% is woods) as are all the trails in the metro park system. Today the trail was snow packed, ice covered and muddy so it made for quite an adventure.
