Started on the trail out from the arboretum and chose to loop up and back Blue Spruce. Finding the arboretum trail back was difficult, and once found the trail was muddy and washed out along the bottom. Might be better on a drier day in spring/summer

This is our favorite forest to hike in Cincinnati. The woods are varied with some fun elevation changes. Hopefully they’ll do some work to cut back the honeysuckle. Trails are not well marked: we missed a turn at one point and had to add an extra loop. The kiddo was getting tired towards the end so we took a shortcut back.

...

This trail is nice, pretty flat and easy but most of this trail is closed because of hunting season but it is poorly labeled so it’s kind of dangerous. Only open Tuesdays and Wednesday’s until February.

About 2/3 of the trail is severely overgrown, very disappointing as it is a beautiful area.

The scenery was nice but trails are not well marked. With the ground covered by leaves, it was impossible to see where some trails were. There are so many small trails it is hard to tell what is supposed to be the “Explorer Trail.”

Great trail with lots of nice elevation changes and beautiful views. The worst part is there is a lot of highway noice in spots.

Pretty good trail, was hard to follow at times because the trail cross crossed so many others. At one point, part of the trail was closed for hunting.

nice trail winding paths with steady elevation changes. a few parts were very dense with foliage.

Nice trail with light traffic in the mornings. No litter, and an overall well maintained park. The only thing I saw that remotely resembled human activity (besides the well worn trail) was what appeared to be a nature learning area where boy scouts built makeshift wilderness shelters out of branches.

We modified the route but lots of options to take different loops and small trails. There was tall brush so I recommend pants.

This was a great trail and well marked. It was hard but not difficult. The stone stairs were really cool but they seemed to last forever. This park is a hidden gem. I will be back to do more of the park.

This began as a beautiful hike. Scenery is very nice. Unfortunately there are places where the trail is very overgrown, with about an 8-10 inch wide path. This would not normally be a problem but there is a fair amount of poison ivy on the trail, including in those overgrown spots. Since we were wearing shorts, we cut out about halfway through the hike and return to our car via the paved road. Would highly recommend wearing long pants if you choose this hike.

Great trail, we cut it short. Brought our german shepard & husky along, they enjoyed it as well. Look forward to coming back and doing it again soon.

came for the stone steps; was not disappointed

This was a great hike. Most of it is shaded, letting you stay cool even on the hottest days.

Tons of spiderwebs across the trail but overall a really fun hike!
