NIce trail, but be ready for mosquitoes especially in the summer

Surprisingly quiet on a beautiful day. A few wildlife sightings - a red crested woodpecker, a dark gray squirrel, and random birds. A nice crispy November day.

I've hiked this easy trail a few times. The trail cuts along a duckweed pond and through the forest.

Nice trail for the kiddo's

This trail has an inner and outer loop. I've been walking the inner loop with my 3 year old on his balance bike and my 1 year old in a stroller. It's my favorite place to take my son on his bike. There's only one place where you cross a road, so I don't have to worry about traffic and safety. Nice gentle hills for him to coast. It's a parkour trail, he likes to stop and try the exercises. Pretty interesting for a paved trail... small stream, parkour, people walking dogs, etc.

Hiked this trail with my husband, 3 year old, and 16 month old. It was perfect for us. The beginning (inner loop) was easy so baby could toddle and wear him self out. My husband carried baby in a pack through the harder back half. We got our exercise in the back half with hillier terrain. 3 year old made it through the whole hike with just a few minutes of piggy back riding. Bridges, hills, fallen trees, slugs, mushrooms, and toads gave the trail lots of interest. Shaded the whole way through. Bathrooms with running water right at trail head. Great family hike.

I've hiked this trail numerous times. If the trail, Miami Shaker Trace, is considered moderate, then this trail must also be considered moderate. Of the four trails shown in Miami Whitewater Forest park, the Miami Shaker Trace trail is the easiest. Don't forget the Miami Shaker Trace is paved.

The lakes are gorgeous. They were full of beaver, but they had to relocate them a few years back due to the damage they were doing to the park. Even without the beaver, well worth it. I've been hiking this trail since I was 4. Love it!

Lots of cute little pups on this trail. When we started we saw a Jack Russell with a little winter sweater on. He looked his name was Charles. Or Walter. The Timberlake trail backs up against a horse trail that goes on for a few miles. On the horse trail we saw a couple Golden Retrievers and Huskies. Oh oh, and we also saw a pretty brown lab on the way out of the trail. I've been to other trails where I've seen more dogs, but we went to a pretty remote location of the park, so that's to be expected. Overall - 7/10 pupperonis. Would Eat Again.

Great family hike. Kids managed well but we're happy to see the steps leading to the road.
**This is listed as "easy" but I would say it is more moderate.

Well maintained wooded trail with a lake overview. One of three hiking trails at Miami Whitewater that share a common parking lot. Hiking all three trails is about 4 miles total. Multiple hill climbs but generally easy.

Well maintained with open forest views. Mostly easy with a few strenuous hills. There is a cut through midway if you want a shorter hike.

well maintained, well marked trails.

Way better than I expected! A really nice variety to the scenery and not just a walk in the woods. Paved trails have their strengths and weaknesses, but overall a great way to spend a few hours. The trail is open to foot traffic as well as bicycles and even horses if you are so inclined.

Very easy and quick trail, unique features of a pond with some wetland wildlife. Quite (not much human noise) trail.

I think most people actually use this as a distance running and biking trail--it's a little flat to be called a hike. But it's a nice, flat trail for biking or running, with some nice scenery.
