Explore the most popular dogs on leash trails in Hueston Woods State Park with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

Not a real hiking trail all the way through. it shares with roads as well. it's rated hard as well. not sure why? Not worth the drive if you are coming from afar.

Really great trail, intersects with a couple others that are really nice aswell. The description on here says dogs are allowed but signs at the trailhead say no pets because it's part of the nature preserve.

Very nice sloping trail that leads to the lake by way of the maple sugaring area. One of five areas in Ohio which was never clear cut. Huge trees and home to Barred Owls.

Nice, quick trail for those days when you don’t have much time. I wish there weren’t so many trees lying across the trails - makes it difficult to take a dog on a leash.

we loved this trail...we actually was able to view and photograph a Blue Heron

Love Hueston Woods; went here as a teen several times. The Lodge is awesome and the grounds are well cared for! Nice little college town of Oxford.

A short easy hike. Nice enough but not much to see, trail very narrow with thick growth blocking grander views.

Nice trail! Easy hike through a mature forest and along a lovely, peaceful lake. Interesting sights and beautiful flora and fauna to observe. Trail signs along the route are clear and easily understood.

It is an ok hike. Part trail part horse trail part road. No official trail. Watch out for the OH drivers on the road.

We took the Sugar Bush Trail, along with the Blue Heron Trail and hiked all the way to the dam and back again along the West Shore. My FitBit said we hiked 5.7 miles total. Great workout and some areas are more than "moderate". Second time hiking this trail but we added 2 side trails and another mile to the dam this time.

Great trail. Some steep hills and great views. Fun to climb on the dried river bed and explore.

A fun trail that has a gorgeous view off a lake.

Good trail. There are some cool overlooks. It is kind of disappointing with a dried up river bed and no real falls.

Very nice trail, this is a loop trail that is mixed in with the "Frisbee Golf Course". I did this hike with my 5 year old son and had no difficulties at all.

Nice park with great woods and trails. I hiked/ran trails and off trail as part of an orienteering meet hosted by Orienteering Cincinnati, with start/finish at the lodge and courses mainly on east side of lake. Multi-use trails look to be well maintained, and the disk golf course covers interesting terrain.

Did west side of lake. A little tough with leaves but nice. Trail really needs more markings and some trees removed but passinle.

We didn't hike all the trails. We did hike along the biking trail and we were also geocaching while there. There are quite a few geocaches along that trail. It was a nice hike and our 3 yo did fine on it.

Very beautiful. Nature is everywhere!

This trail is rather short at.9 miles but it is a nice hike and has lots of nice views. There are some hills that are fairly steep but short in length.
My wife and I hiked this trail, be aware that the trail is marked but not what I would call good markings, we got of the trail once and ended up in a dog training area (which offered us up some really nice scenic views) overall we enjoyed the hike and views it offered,

Good small loop trail with good forest cover, it is a short trail approx .8 miles and it is rather easy, but when I have hiked it, I have seen some nice wildlife within the area, just go slow and quiet.

Great trails. They range for every ability. Great ease going from a easy to expert trail. Orange is a great trail, but red will give you the greatest workout. If you are there for the cruise go with green.

Great trails. Many different levels of intensity for different riders. I like the ability to combine trails halfway through to ease it up or increase the difficulty. Started as a novice, feeling like an expert! Highly recommended.
