hike back to trailhead

hiking in at 10 p.m. full moon April to see most of path. about half a mile great spot for camping near Creek!

I took my two dogs here for our first longer day hike, we had a great time! the trails were mostly maintained (some spots a little overgrown but you can pick up the trail easily once you get through). We did the backpack trail and part of the perimeter trail, all in all about 13.5 miles so definitely plenty to explore! Had the great pleasure of having a bald eagle fly right over my head while I was down around the lake. Definitely will be coming back to this trail!

A fun trail to pull us back into the woods.. As others point out bridges were a bit sketchy but all good along a clear path.. Stayed at camp two but there was a house party not to far away so made for a long night... Looking forward to another two day hike escape of the daily grind...

We were looking for a quick overnighter and this was perfect. Easy but not too easy. Really the only complaint is that all the creeks were dry so we had to make our way to the lake for water. What are you going to do about Mother Nature? Not a real big deal, just a pain. Stayed at camp 1. Easy to find. Pit toilets couldn’t have been in much worse shape, but we had no expectations. Wildlife was great. Tons of deer. The foxes were a little creepy at night. Did a short trip on part of the perimeter trail. Will spend more time there next time. Quite beautiful.

Nice trail the bridge that is out is not a big deal if dry

Great hike! Not too busy on a late Sunday afternoon. The signage isn't very good though. We ended up on the Perimeter Trail, which was more than we signed up for, so we turned back. Other than that, it was a great first time at East Fork. My dog and I had a great day!

Took the 8 mile around to campsite 2. Some of the bridges felt very unstable but only one was out. We hit several areas that had the trail blocked by down trees and extremely overgrown in some other spots. Hike back out wasn’t bad but this map takes you on portions of the horse trail so expect mud and uneven ground. Overall great experience and we had 2 others join us at campsite 2 for the night.

Great trail. Well marked and easy to follow with app. No mud today. Fun to see the lake through the trees. Also saw a couple deer and a SNAKE that took us by surprise - and let's not forget the cute inchworms that joined us for lunch. We had to turn around early to beat the school bus, but we had an awesome hike.

Simple good trail. Stepped aside for mountain bikers and trail runners. No issues.

Started this after work with my dog planning to stop at campsite 2 near the lake, she was overheating and tiring out so we stopped at campsite 1. It has a few fire rings and a lean to, but the only source of water is a pretty foul stillwater pond, the banks of it are all mud that you sink into so getting water is a hassle especially if you have to do it at night. The trail itself is nice and well kept, however they tell you it’s blazed with red markings and most of it doesn’t have any red, just blue or yellow. Pretty simple to follow though I made a mistake or two.

A great trail, lots of beautiful trees, wildlife, partial lake views. Light traffic during the week days.

Nice 3 miles hike. Mostly woods with a small view of the lake. The trails were poorly marked so we did the wrong trail. Not sure what trail we did but it was a blue blaze.

The trail was fun, the markings are terrible someone went through and added their own. This trail is not being maintained but it was a fun experience. Their were a few fallen trees.

Nice views of the lake along the large creek inlet on the west. The trail follows the ridge up high and trees are mature. The rest is just woods. Busy with bikers after 6 during the week. The drive is now paved and so is half the parking lot.
