Excellent ride

Relaxing path for a stroll, not many people. Benches at the top of the quarry are a nice place to stop and relax. Would recommend boots or shoes you don’t mind getting dirty

Nice clear trail with access to the old quarry which is pretty cool to see, also access to Deep Lock (deepest lock on old Ohio & Erie Canal.

it was a beautiful short trail

So I feel like "easy" is a bit misleading. I'm a bigger guy and the trail starts and ends with a pretty decent incline that I found pretty challenging. Overall the majority of the trail is easy going and the quarry was really interesting. I'm looking forward to coming back during the autumn. There are plenty of benches and lots of historical facts scattered throughout the trail.

Not a very challenging hike but the quarry and lock were very interesting to look at.

Unless you're on a bike I wouldn't suggest taking this trail. I hiked it and dealt with bikes almost nonstop from both directions.

It was too early for all that but it was a nice ride. The history of these towpaths is fasinating.

A wonderful early morning ride. I love the bridges, train depot and other man made atractions mixed in with nature and history.

I agree with Mairah that the traffic noise takes away from the experience. Other than the traffic noise it was a beautiful ride.

It was a nice bike ride. I only gave it a 3 because of the traffic nearby.

Nice trail with some interesting pieces of history along the way. Not a difficult trail per se, but it will definitely let you know if you are out of shape!

We extended the Deep Lock Quarry Trail along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail not far to the scenic Peninsula area. It was fun to watch the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad come through here (unfortunately we didn't have enough time to include it). There is a National Park Trail Mix store (bigger than the one at Boston) and a few nice restaurants and places for snacks. We ended up having dinner here at the end of a wonderful day!

A nice easy mostly wooded trail just off the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail.

Hilly, beautiful view of locks, towpath

There is not a 2.5 mile loop trail in Deep Lock Quarry. You can verify that by going on Metro Parks website.
The address is also incorrect. You will end of on a dead end street with no place to park but you can access Towpath.

Very flat walk along the Towpath throughout but some nice scenery along the way. I tend to frequent the trails around the towpath more often as the path itself is usually very congested with bike traffic.

Really enjoyed this from the large grinding stones along the path to the old quarry to ability to extend the hike on the Tow Path!

Interesting hike, you can learn how locks were made from many years ago

Trail didn't seem to be marked correctly in a number of spots. We took two wrong turns, following the trail signs. We were disappointed by the short length, lack of change in elevation, and there really wasn't much to see once we got to the quarry.

Always a treat, whether walking or biking. Lots of wildlife and the national park stores that serve snacks at Boston and Peninsula make them great places to take a break. Have not done Bike and Board, but the trains seem to be on time and $3 is a bargain for a one way train trip back.

The scenery along the trail was beautiful but the trail itself was very rough riding. Horses, bikes and feet had been on the trail when it was muddy & after it dried, it made for a rough ride!

Great trail ride or walk for all ages along the Historic Erie Canal tow path.
Pros: Well marked and maintained. Historic features along the entire path with muliple hiking trail off shoots.
Cons: Very crowded most days.

I'be gone from Harvard Rd. in Cleveland to Akron and everywhere in-between! Has many great side trails, fishing
spots and various shops and nature centers.

Very easy hike, very nice site, and if its not enough for you, there is a connection to the towpath trail and from that other nice trails. It gets a solid five stars because.. And this deserve all caps...I SAW A BALD EAGLE on this trail.
