My first time to the park and easy to find coming from Columbus. Saw some hikers and trail runners in the parking lot. Various trails which can be combined to make for a longer hike. There are no water faucets in the park so you have to take all the water you need. I combined a few trails and ended up with 11 miles exploring the park. Great mix of single track trail and forest road. Enjoyed the rolling hills and only saw a few people. if you want a good trail run and some elevation I highly recommend this metro park. No idea if swimming in Clear Creek is allowed next to the parking lot. There is a private camp, Camp Wyandot, on the other side of the creek.

The trail is in good shape for as much rain we have had. A decent about of steep up’s and down’s to get on and off the main trail.

Didn’t do the 8 mile. Took in most of the Fern Trail for ruggedness and scenery. 6.3 miles total.

Need to go back here! We went canoeing a few years back and it was a blast! The water was a little low that year though so we got our canoe stuck a few times, but hey! That’s the fun of canoeing!

I love Clear Creek MP. Most of the trails are in great shape and pretty scenic. Especially Fern, Hemlock, and Chestnut trails. They are probably the most difficult of all of them but also most scenic. And by difficult I only mean in terms of elevation gain. Trails are all maintained and clear. My favorite of all the C-Bus Metro Parks.

FIRST Hike of the Fall

Took the Creekside Trail to the Hemlock Trail Head. Some good elevation and awesome views overlooking the Hemlock groves. Trail was in good shape despite the heavy rains last week, some steep climbing but proved no problem for the kids. Great first hike of 2016. Bonus: Perfect wooden bench at the top of the ridge, nice place to rest and overlook the ravine.

Hike it as part of 10 mile hike in Clear Creek. It is then a Moderate hike.

note: this trail is part of CMP and is located in Clear Creek MP off of US-33 on Clear Creek Rd.

Very nice HR trail. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the wild life and scenery. Beautiful rock formations. A must see in the area.
