Nice

We went after a snowfall and did the long loop. It took us about 2 hours to trek in our snow gear. The “Mystical Forest” snow covered trees was our favorite highlight. Mildly hilly balanced with flat terrain.

Fun trail with my three kids, ages 5-8. The little cemetery and house ruins are really cool, great plant variation, well marked trail. We took the short loop, as even that was a bit long for us. The trail head is actually just in front of the official looking park entrance, to the right, behind a small parking area that looks about two cars wide. There's a bridge just before the trail sign.

Great view of Paint Creek Gorge!!

This is a great beginner trail complete with a wide path for many to venture on at the same time. A slight ascent warms you up in the winter that lasts the whole mile long. The trail requires you to hone your hiking skills with an attention to the orange trail blazes as they merge with the red trail blazes of Hoggard Trail. Turn right at this point of merge with Hoggard Trail for an easy romp back to the trail head. Or, venture left at this point of merge with Hoggard Trail for a lengthy three-mile loop.

A new trail (circa November 2016) that heads off into the forest and along the cliffs for a little over a half mile. Blue blazes guide your path. An opportunity exists to veer off onto the South Point Lookout Trail (Red Blazes) at one of the lookout points.

This trail meanders along some cliffs that are surprisingly high and with great views. A short off-trail is a hidden gem to Paint Creek below the cliffs. A couple of nice look outs along the trail!

Great new trail at Buzzard's Roost Nature Preserve (part of Ross County Park District in Chillicothe, Ohio). Wide, clear trail at the start with winding narrow jaunts through a heavily wooded forest. Slight elevation at times with some great views and abundant wildlfe (e.g., deer).
