The Chippewa Inlet Trail is an asphalt and crushed-limestone trail. The trail runs from State Route 42 in Lafayette Township, through Buckeye Woods Park, across State Route 162, to Chippewa Road. From upland pine stands to wet woods and restored wetlands, this trail has a variety of interesting habitats for users to experience. The trail loops around a wetland restoration project on the north side of the park. A fishing pond is available off of the Chippewa Inlet Trail at Buckeye Woods. Dirt and aggregate trails are accessible from there as well. NOTE: for wheelchair and stroller access, start at the south end of the trail or the fishing pond at Buckeye Woods. The portion running north from Chippewa Rd. to Buckeye Woods is fully paved. The remaining portion at Buckeye Woods (running north to Lafayette Rd.) is crushed aggregate. Show more
