Explore the most popular nature trips trails in Bedford Reservation with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

Went for a trail run on this one, the hills are very steep, ups and downs. Stream crossings are enjoyable as long as you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Currently there is a detour for a nature restoration area that makes this trail closer to 8 miles total.

Definitely would have been better on horses because it was a long trail. Ended up only going 5.3 miles since we went during the heat of the day. Still a nice quiet hike where you forget you’re in NEO. I do wish the trail stayed closer to the water though.

The creek and waterfalls are beautiful. It was a great 1-hour walk and exploring time with the kids (8 and 10-years). There are lots of seashells on the shore for the kids to find. You can really see the different rock layers along the river, and there is a plaque describing how the layers wear differently to create the rock formations. There are also plaques explaining the history of the place, as it used to have a mill and hydroelectric plant. The only problem is some trash and graffiti.

A scenic out and back trail with wild flowers and a serene creek & Falls. We loved it!

Nice trail we went rock climbing too
Got off the trail a little. It was easy to find way back

Been back there so many times. Beautiful, quiet, a peaceful place to think. Going off the trail to explore new areas is just as fun and staying on it. But be careful you dont accidentally wander onto the mountain biker trails. Almost got taken out a couple times by mistake!

My first time there today, loved it,even though I had to cut my hike short due to pouring rain.

Wasn't bad but there are 2 river crossing that most people won't be prepared for but not bad if you take you shoes and socks off

I walk this trail regularly as I live close by, love the scenery and that it's not all flat

Grew up on this reservation. This is not part of CVNP despite what a lot of information shows. Bedford Reservation is part of the Cleveland Metroparks system which is independent and completely apart from CVNP. This trail just connects parts of CVNP outside the Bedford Reservation but all the main trails are in Bedford. Beautiful place to spend the day.

Please note that the trail starts across the street from parking area.

This trail starts at the Egbert Pavilion and goes past Bridal Veil Falls Overlook and then on to Tinker's Creek Gorge Overlook. As you can see on the map, the trail parallels a road through the reservation. Unfortunately, the closeness to the road takes away from the feeling that you're in nature. The highlight of the trail is definitely Bridal Veil Falls. It's a well-maintained trail and good for hiking, running, dog-walking, and horse back riding. Thank you Cleveland Metro Parks for yet another nice park!

This trail was a lot of fun and had some really great challenges. This was the first time on the trail and could have used a couple more markers. Other than that it was great!

We enjoyed a sunny day on the trail. It's definitely worth stopping by Bridal Veil Falls on your way to the overlook!

We were able to hike the falls side today. What a difference in scenery within a week! It was a balmy 15 degrees today, but we liked the frozen falls. Nature is beautiful in all seasons.

We decided to go to the left and hike down Tinker's Creek. There is a detour that takes you of off the AllTrails map and loops you around back to the trail. It has to add over a mile to what the mileage states.

That being said, we saw a runner run through the No Admittance sign after we had just finished the detour, so on the way back we went through as well, as we started fighting daylight. There was no difficulty getting through it, but there is an area where the land eroded and the trail disconnects. I could see this being a problem for a horse, since this is a bridal trail, but for hiking...just step off to right or left and walk through a bit of rocks, but nothing major.

I saw that there were hikers who made it a loop but at this time of year, you can't get across Tinker's Creek. It is too far across and not enough big rocks to make it all the way. You have to keep this an Out-and-Back. Awesome trail, though.

Took the bridal trail - however there was a spot where the trail forked, if you go to the right you end up running along the stream, eventually the trail ran to the stream with no option to cross so I had to turn around and go to the left side of the fork which led up a very steep incline. Once up the incline the trail was really nice. A lot of dead trees to jump over though. Also the was an area closed that had rerouting directions. Went about 3.5 miles before turning around at another steep incline and heading back for a total of 7 miles.

In one area I said 4/5, but really I would prefer this 3/5. The 4/5 is because Mother Nature herself was beautiful and the hiking was nice. It was a great workout, but both Bedford Reservation Trail and AllTrails maps were incorrect. The loop consisted of taking the Buckeye Trail and then looping around on the bridal trail. It showed descending and crossing the stream....however, there is nowhere to cross. When looking down on the current map on Bedford Reservation's website, I noticed it was from 2010.

We attempted to follow the stream a short ways in hopes of finding a nice, rocky area to attempt crossing the stream. We even took off our socks and shoes and made it about halfway across before the rocks underneath became too slippery and not safe. Where the bridal marker showed crossing the stream, there were steps going up a rock wall...but again, no way to get across.

After trekking it back up the steep incline all the way back to the Buckeye hiking trail, we had to walk back the full 7 miles, making it 14.1 miles for us, not the 12.1 listed.

When attempting to take a photo on the trail, I got kicked out of the app and when I got back in and clicked to continue recording, not only does it not track miles correctly, but I lost the red-lined trail map. This happens almost every trail I'm on and recording.

So my advice....when you get up to the park that is also part of the workout trail at the end, make the small loop and just come back in on the same Buckeye Trail you went out on!

great run

I grew up in Bedford, OH and have hiked every inch of this park both as a kid and later as a father with my son. All I can say is that this place is magical and breathtaking cliff formations, an abundance of wildlife and trails that intertwine with peaceful babbling brooks and waterfalls. I have also hiked California and now I am an avid lover of Oregon State parks and the amazing unending trails and dramatic seasonal nature here... but my heart will always live here in the beautiful forests of Bedford, OH ;:-))

Water was really low, not much of a waterfall to look at. But will try to go back in the fall after a good rain. But a pretty good trail.

Very pretty waterfall and surrounding scenery. The hike is pretty easy ad is suitable for anyone, regardless of experience hiking. This trails provides some very nice photo opportunities and is great for picnics and quiet stops, too. Lots of wildlife as well. A very nice, peaceful area.
