The track is fine, but half of the trail is uneven with a lot of ruts Be prepared for mud, slop and sore ankles

Great trail. As others mention, it’s 6 miles, not 5. Went at sunrise and had the trail to myself. Wildlife, fall colors, just beautiful. Good workout, but not difficult. Came off the trail to a parking lot teeming with trail bikers. Would reverse course if hiking while bikers are enjoying the trail.

challenging step up.from easy, but very do able. figured out our pace is a bit slower than we thought. went on a dry cool day and it was a great walk.

We really enjoyed the trail. Went alongside water several times. Dog friendly. Only downside was that it’s not clearly marked - especially at the top/north end - which was a bummer but we used AllTrails to navigate and it ended up fine. We’ll go back for sure!

Great trail! A little difficult to figure out the start, but then pretty clear. Did have to check the app a couple times!

I would definitely recommend this trail. Today the conditions were perfect. The trail was dry and still easy to follow even with the falling leaves, just watch foot placement as some roots etc can be hidden by the leaves.

Awesome trail to run on. Moderate challenge. Have seen several people twist ankles so wear trail gear. It is a big step up in difficulty from the metro parks in the area.

Nice trail featuring great scenery, wide paths. wildlife, and in relatively good condition. Some spots have ruts due to mowing in soft ground conditions but overall a nice trail to run or walk. The trail system features multiple variations to get distance between 3 miles to 6 miles in a single loop.

Trail is named appropriately. Hasn’t rained much so the trail was dry, couple of stream crossings were a fun challenge. Only ran into a couple of people.

Trailhead bathroom closed. Nice trail but lots Of boat noise on a Sunday afternoon.

no shade

At spots, this trail was very rundown, rocky, and covered with leaves and sticks. Not good for trail running. Lots of spiderwebs that cross the width of the trail. Many open spots with little to no shade.

A great 2.5 hour hike. Very appropriate for what we wanted, a challenge that didn’t take the whole day or totally wear us out. Definitely navigate to the trail head using the coordinates in Alltrails because the trail was a little tricky to find. I wouldn’t have known it was there without Google Maps. But it was great once we were on the trails. Lots of barbs and thorns toward the end but otherwise great. This hike plus a nap was a perfect Sunday :)

Good trail just should be called roots and briars right now.

Beautiful run today on the north loop. My GPS app clocked the trail in at 7 miles, not sure if I took a wrong turn or something but this was a great challenging course. My dog loved it too.

The first 3/4 mile and last 3/4 mile is liking hiking at a new build house construction zone. That being said the rest of the trail is good. If you like 10’ wide paths and no chance of being lost this trail is for you. I added the North Loop on to make it 6.3 miles and it is a more scenic trail so it’s worth it.

North loop is definitely easier than the South loop, not overgrown anywhere. Awesome hike. Bathroom at the dog park is open but the one by the trail head is not.

first off this trail is 6 miles not 5. amazing tho, had a blast. if you're walking DO NOT WEAR HEADPHONES. it's mostly for mountain biking so you need to be aware of cyclists. every one was fine with us hiking there though.

Trail is well marked, recommend trekking poles or multiple walking sticks. Between mile 2.5-4 you walk through brush with stickers mostly that whole mile and a half. Pretty much the entire way is like walking a deer trail so you can enjoy real hiking !!

Good trail. Decent mix of shade and sun. Some nice spots along the water. Overall a good trail of it isn’t super muddy.

Perfect for starting to train for running a tough mudder.

Nice trail for a walk. About 45% shaded which was nice on this August day.

definitely easier than the south loop. got really frustrating at the top though. there are a dozen or so mini trails zig zagging all over and it was super tricky to stay on this trail.

amazing trail!!! moderate effort. came at a dry time so little to no mud. but mud is fine for us

Great trail, very clean and well kept. There is a standard 3 mile loop trail with the option of adding on an addition 2.2 miles halfway through. Numerous spots to cut down by the water.
