Fun and quick trail, slight uphill to the top, then nice and easy back to the trailhead. Meticulously marked and maintained.

Peaceful walk through pretty woods. Ends abruptly at a sign in the woods, with no particular views from top (at least in spring when trees have leaves on them). Starts at Purgatory Trail trailhead in Zoo NA parking lot. Possible to do both trails in one day (I have not done the Purgatory Trail so can’t compare).

Well maintained, smooth and level gravel paved handicapped accessible trail. The accessible portion begins in the North America parking lot and ends at a service road crossing. Does not require admission to the Zoo itself for access.

Nice quick trail. Well blazed. Half is gravel, the other bit is more rocky.

To call it a mountain is a stretch and there’s not much of a view at the top but it’s a nice last minute hike. Very easy and well marked and if they actually build the observation tower mentioned, it would be cool. Connecting it to the end of Moonshine run to make it a loop would be nice.

This was a well maintained trail. I enjoy the other two trails that led off from this main trail much better, but this is a nice trail for a short walk and for people that don't like hiking on a single lane path.

I liked this one better than the other 2 because it felt more like a real hike compared to Purgatory Mountain trail. I did this a few months ago and didn't log it in.

it was an easy trail. I hiked all three. can't wait for the tower and a loop.

Nice trail. Uphill but not strenuous. We bring our GSD here a lot. Never crowded. It also connects to another trail if you want to walk more. Great last minute short hike.

Nice there and back trail at the NC Zoo. It's well marked and a fairly easy hike. The trail is just a little shy of a mile up the mountain. It is all uphill but it's not too strenuous. The view at the top is fair, there lot's of trees so it's a little difficult to gauge. There's a sign at the summit though that says they will be building an observation tower....now that's going to be awesome!

nice trail and easy hike, would be better if the trails looped together for a longer hike

awesome zoo, great day with the family.

Nice mile long trail through the woods. The path was easy to follow and there were many signs posted throughout the trail. Could have been a nice view from the top but there was so many trees you could barely see around them, but they are planning on building a viewing tower later this year!
