My wife and I hiked this trail together this summer. Not difficult at all and very pleasant.

Bully breeds are not allowed on the hiking trails and dogs are not allowed in the park itself. One star because of that and I will enjoy my hike somewhere else!

Not worth the drive to to the trail.

Thanks

Smith lake is a great mountain biking trail. Inside the all trails app, you can start record, and then it gives you a mapping function that you can follow to do the entire course, which is beginner intermediate an expert, for about eightMiles of riding.

Towards the end of the trail was very confusing. Be sure to take a picture of the map at the parking area and compare to this map. Very easy and flat with some small hills. More endurance rather than strength.

Nice area, well maintained. appropriately marked with specific signage.
disappointed with the amount of sand on the trails. Even berms were made with sand and features concluded with sand. the Brown expert trail is the one too ride. and since I'm no expert I would encourage those with skills beyond beginner will find it nicely challenging

Have been coming to do runs here a lot but I recently started biking it and it’s great for beginners because of the way the trail naturally flows and gets harder and harder while still providing places for people to pull off it it gets too hard. The trail is lined with signs that tell at what skill level your at.

Great bike trail for a beginner who wants to be challenged. Whats nice is that I started on the beginner trail, it met up with the intermediate then advanced trails, so i did a complete loop of about 7.5 miles, and was exhausted.

really enjoyed this trail with my dog.

A nice moderate stroll through the woods. My dog and kids had a good time on the red trail 5k hike.

The trail is a biking trail but you can hike or trail run on it easily as well. There are several trails at Smith Lake—I did the green trail (2.7 miles). Characteristic of NC the ground is sand, although it is not deep or too soft. The green trail is very flat and surrounded by a nice wooded view.

Surprisingly great little trail for this area. The red trail is closed about halfway through, but it's still worth it to go as far down it as you can, then just turn back around. It wasn't busy at all for a Saturday, which was great. It was perfect to take my dog on. I will definitely be back to check out the rest of the area.

bunch of sand. Trail is an easy hike. The people who hike it do not pick up after themselves or their dogs. If your dog poops in the middle of the trail, don't be a d***.
If you own a bike, bring it. This trail would be more fun.

It was nice all and all but there was a lot of glass on the trails in some spots where the roads meet the trails . The lake had a lot of junk round it. And it was way to sandy 4-6 in. deep. We had to go off the trail and ride beside it for most of it. I'm not counting this one out just yet tho. Waiting for a good hard rain to go back .

Boo! I got the joy of "road marching all the way around this while in the army. Road marching is when you hike with a 35 pound rucksack on your back holding your weapon, and in FULL uniform. So we did 12 miles of that around this area...more than once...good memories.

I only ran the Green for 2 laps, just to get a feel for the course. It was pretty well maintained and there were a few others on the track aswell. Best I've seen around the Fayetteville area so far.

Rode this today for the 3rd time. Parked at the turnout across from the horse stables and rode Blue->Black->Green and somehow this was 10.2 miles instead of the normal 8.9. Not sure if I got geographically embarrassed or something else. Still good fun, much too sandy, particularly on the blue parts. Have heard that the best time to ride is right after the rain. It would be great if MWR brought in a couple truckloads of good clay to fix some of the sandy hills and build ramps to some of the little bridges. Either way, I'll ride it again as it is close. Glad that Bragg has a nice course here on post.

Update: The Blue Loop has now been extended. The trail consists of just less than 12 miles. Great Job Guys!!! A great trail for the novice and intermediary riders. Also, there have been new loops (red and brown) added to the trail.

Decent ride good for honing a new tuning setup but no challenge needs more jumps watch that sand too you can do a lot of drifting

I have been out here a few times, not bad, just no camping on the trail, so start early. Also hiked a volksmarch in leaderhosen. Not a present experience, especially with little children. Decent trail all in all.

Its a pretty good trail. It needs to be revamped because it used to be much better.

Fun trail if you combine the intermediate and advanced loops together.
