What a beautiful place for a hike re-have the option of seeing the upper and the lower waterfalls. Very well-traveled trails although some spots are very muddy, rocky, and narrow. Sometimes the trail can be a bit confusing as well so really pay attention to the signs. But it’s quite lovely there and a great work out, I would consider this to be an easy to moderate hike but be prepared for a lot of Rocky, rutty and muddy conditions. There is quite a bit of parking, as well as a restroom.

I only hiked 2 miles. Mostly flat to small incline trail in the woods with a beautiful creek near the beginning.

50, out of shape and overweight... I did it! :-) Easy trail with great paths and pretty falls view. Watch for poison ivy!

Strenuous, but acceptable. great views

Made for a fun hour.

Although it’s a short easy hike it’s beautiful great for all

stop here 9-26-17 at one of my most favorite overlooks on the parkway is graveyard fields located at milepost 418.8. not only do you have this stunning views but you can do a short hike doing down to the lower falls and a second hike just a little longer to the upper falls. i didn't have time to go the the upper falls but take a left out of the parking lot as just around the bend you can see the upper falls from the roadside. if you hike to the upper falls than the lower falls and back to the parking lot the loop is 2.9 miles. at one time between 500 to 1000 years ago the was a spruce forest that was burned down leaving dirt mounds and the forest did return but fires got it again in 1925. this spot is very popular and there are bathrooms. if you only have time to see one thing on the parkway. this would be an excellent pick

Very easy trail, especially with kids and a dog. The incline was a little rough for me because I am not used to it but take it easy. We enjoyed it and the refreshing water is nice to cool off in!

Amazing ending. Lots of roots and rocks, but not too tough of a trail.

Highly recommend this trail. We went on a Thursday and still a good amount of people on the trail. I don’t think I would try it on a weekend. It was a pretty easy walk. Towards the end a little more tougher terrain for little one/pets. The view worth it!

This trail I will give five stars it is a challenge and if your looking for a flat solid trail this I sent it but if your willing to travers the rocky hillsides it will be very much worth the view it’s a beautiful waterfall it’s a challenge but I will recommend it just be ready to push thru I saw children and we took our dog so I just urge watching your step

i spent 2 months in September & October of 2017 tour six southern states checking out all kinds of trails & historical site. started my day here. tom's creek falls has to be the easiest trail i have ever done. its a straight line to the falls. less than a mile with almost no elevation gain. you can walk it blind folded. but still nice to see this 80ft multi-cascade falls with a small plunge pool. if you walk the trail in the spring A variety of wildflowers grow among the hardwood forest. i meet a really nice couple here and they told me there is also an old mica mine just downstream from falls but i didn't have time to check it out. all in all a great little spot to add to any day trip.

Syd solo hike. Strenuous first 2 miles. No other hikers. 5lb mushrooms (turkeys, Milkies, chantrelles)

Good workout to the top. No views till you get to Callaway Peak. Three ladders to climb at top along with cables. It's very steep the last half mile. The plane wreck is to the right of the last campground up top. I started at Asutsi Trailhead then connected into Tanawha. The kiosk at Boone Fork Bridge has permits. I met the crew repairing Cragway and Nuwati Trails and those trails should be open in September, along with bridge. Short hike on Tanawha then connect to DBST. I'm whooped!

Lovely hike

Great view from the top. Not too strenuous, but not easy. On weekends parking can be a problem as the mountain can be crowded, in my opinion I would go on a weekday for this trail.

Saw a bear on the way down. Started moving a little quicker after that. Tough hike up but the view was worth it! Much easier trip down.

Great easy hike with a fantastic payoff. Walked this trail on 8/12, a Monday, at 9am. Perfect as we head into Asheville so you are not a coveted in fort and sweat.

Well worth going on this hike. Grandkids loved it when we made it to the top.

Great hike and worth it for the views!

super easy hike to this beautiful waterfall !

This trail is amazing! Steady climb the entire way to the top, but the view at the end is more than worth it. Highly recommended! Would definitely do it again.
