Beautiful secluded short trail by the river! Lots of beautiful plants and interesting insects along the way!

Great trail if you're looking for a up hill hike! Good for trail running

I love this trail! If you are in good shape, you may enjoy this as a trail run - plenty of variety and rolling ups/downs - with the last part the steepest (think stairs). Beautiful scenery, from wooded forest to views appearing near the top. Out and back trail, not loop. Wear grippy shoes - loose rock and dirt abound. Such a gorgeous view at the top, you’ll have earned it! Bathrooms and water at top of trail is a plus. If you want to hike up but don’t like going downhill, take two cars and leave one up top.

Went yesterday (a friday) and ran into only one person on the grindstone trail before the Ledge Spring Trail (closer to the parking lot at the top). Definitely some effort required but not very strenuous over all, probably like a 3.5/5 on strenuousity (?). Definitely worth the hike vs. driving, and I would recommend doing the Jomeokee Trail around the Big Knob. It was extremely windy yesterday at the top which led to chilliness and hair in my face. Also I would lable this as out-and-back as well. You could take the Mountain Trail and add 4.5 miles and do the Ledge Spring Trail to add 2.5? 2.8? to make it almost completely new trails on the way back, but that'd be a hefty hike for sure. Overall a fantastic hike that I'd easily recommend.

Great Trail. Be in good shape for this one.

Corridor trail is very well maintained and an easy trek connecting Horne Creek and Pilot Mountain. We took two cars, dropped one car off at Pilot Mountain and then drove to Horne Creek to begin our hike. Normally I would rate a trail with a lower rating when it follows alongside houses, but I was expecting to see houses so I decided to only take away one star instead of two. I was disappointed that there weren’t any openings with great views of Pilot Mountain, in fact there wasn’t any long distance views at any point. There were several creek crossing and I was glad to have waterproof shoes on one of them. Keep in mind Pilot Mountain closes their gates at 6:00 and Horne Creek closes their gates at 5:00, which I think is kind of early. We parked on the side of the road outside the gate and I’m glad we did. We didn’t get back to our car until 15 minutes after closing.

Just completed this today. Great hike, great views at top. I would call this an out and back and not a loop because the path down is same as up. It’s listed as a loop.

Really enjoyed the hike.... it’s worth the trip. I drove just over an hour. I hike Crowders Mtn. and Hanging Rock Trails regularly and I’m putting this in the rotation. A couple of fairly steep sections but it’s not bad if you’re in decent shape.

Not as difficult as I thought it would be. The views are wonderful and the path is wide and clean.

It’s alright. A fairly easy hike with an ok view at the top. There is also something that just pisses me off when I get to the top of a mountain to find parking lots and bathrooms. Probably won’t do it again.

Hiked this trail on my 65th Birthday, nice challenge for an old man. Not really too difficult if you're in reasonable shape. Really nice views at the top and along the way. Easy to get to, about 15 miles N of Winston-Salem.

An amazing trail! On a cold day in December we enjoyed a couple of rock climbers! A great day!

One direction will have you climbing up rocks, the other (starting at the trail head towards the pinnacle) will put you climbing up steps. A cool trip through the boulder fields but definitely a challenging hike.

I would describe this as "moderate" rather than "hard." Lots of diversity for such a small area. The parking area at the top is usually crowded, but take the Jomeokee Trail around the actual knob and you'll get some great, less trafficked views. This is probably the best hike within an hour of Winston-Salem

Really like this trail. Started at 830 am and no trail traffic. Moderate traffic at the summit but a beautiful clear day. This is a do again.

I would definitely go back again and again!

This was a good stroll through the woods. It would be good for trail running. No views except at the parking lot. Two small running creeks today. Looks like their might be one more small one in the spring.

Also signs say 3.5 miles one way but GPS for round trip said 6.1. Not sure which one is correct.

Great trail when you are looking for a beautiful walk in the woods.

Went earlier this morning, it was quiet and serene, great for adventuring with your dog and a camera. *TRAVEL ADVISORY* Make sure your vehicle can cross potential waterways/creek-beds in order to access the park.

Good hike. Enjoyed the Ledge Spring Trail going up to Big Pinnacle. Got to watch several rock climbers do their thing.

Great trail, well blazed and also informative signs on tree species as well was appreciated. Started in the horse trailer parking lot and made my way into about a 5 mile loop with all 3 trails connecting. Great day hike, low traffic, nice views along the river.

Well maintained trail and decently blazed. Good views, low traffic, nice elevation changes and a few switchbacks, but nothing too strenuous, started down near the southern end and only made it about halfway before had to turn around an head back home, will repost once i finish it! Looking forward to the 2nd half!

really nice wooded trail. not difficult. rehabbing my knee to get back to being able to trail run again. This trail will be high on my list to run soon.

This is by far one of my favorite hikes in NC! I love that within an hour you can kick it and get a great workout or just enjoy the beauty of the views and hawks / vultures that fly above you. It's also a great solo hike.

best to hike early when the parking lots are empty. As we left the parking lots were so full they had a Ranger directing traffic in and out one of the lots.

Beautiful hike! Definately would do again.

We went clockwise on the trail and up ledge to the knob, that stretch was tough. It was a great day hike! The dog loved it. Short distance from Charlotte, rewarding view at the top. 30 minute drive to downtown Winston Salem. We went to Foothills brewery restaurant there and it was fantastic! Their taste room which is more casual with food trucks is about 40 minutes away.

Second time on this trail and I would do it again. First time was a clear day and the views were spectacular. Second time it was misty and cloudy. I felt like I was in the land of the lost. It really added a mystique to the trail that you don't get on a clear day. The first 2 miles are fairly easy then you start climbing the ridge line, watching your step and get that heart pumping. I opted to take the ledge spring trail and there are tons of outcropping ledges to test your fear of heights. Kept my dog on a short leash in those areas. If you want to burn 800 calories, kill 3 hours and have a great hike, I highly recommend this trail.
