Wonderful, well marked trail on your way into or home from North Carolina. The instant look at the waterfall gives you a great start to what quickly turns into an uphill climb. From there the narrow and well worn trail will offer you great views in either direction as you make it up to Willams Pulpit. From there you can choose to continue on the Bartram trail or take it back downhill.

Great place close to house. Short hike.

I love this waterfall! Once you find it, it is easy to get to. It is close to my home so I like to take friends to it.

This is a good mountain bike trail, but I came to hike. there were nice views of the lake.

Short hike. Great views! Steep elevation change.

This is a steady uphill climb, with a pretty waterfall at the bottom & a gorgeous view at the top. Keep the view in mind when you want to quit (believe me, I thought about it). We both enjoyed the challenge, the quiet, and the stunning colors (the dog had fun too!).

(Hiked 10/29/17)

I very much enjoyed hiking to Rainbow, Turtleback and Bearwallow Falls in (or just outside of) Gorges State Park...particularly the beautiful Rainbow and Turtleback Falls. There are so many wonderful waterfalls in this area of North Carolina. I can’t wait to get back to see more.

Private property... Can't access unless you're a resident there.

Awesome Trail if you know how to walk talk and watch where you step , otherwise, it seems if you can not do that you will fall.

This is my second time doing this hike. The waterfall is very pretty and the view from William's Pulpit is a nice one. The hike is pretty steadily up hill and you'll be glad to get to your final destination--particularly since the climb continues thereafter. This time we actually went several miles further to Harrison Gap and I can say that it was a real workout--we were thrilled to get to William's Pulpit on the way back!

Nice easy/moderate hike. Mostly in woods, but a few mountain views sneak in. My dog liked it too. Fairly light traffic for a Sat.

Great well marked trails nearby, this one was temporarily closed.

Nice walk in the woods but not very scenic. Not a loop!

Up to Williams pulpit where the view is absolutely worth a stop and a chill moment looking at the lake below. Come back the same way it's mostly downhill and really easy
A beautiful forest with not so many people hiking around.

Beautiful views.

For the out of shape hiker this trail and it's steep inclines are a challenge, for everyone else it should be pretty easy! The views at the top are totally worth it.

Nowhere to stop and get a good view of the falls. There are no obvious platforms to look at the falls and it's hard to get a good picture due to all the condos in the way. Lots of construction going on in the area as well.

A nice hike, tough ascent if you're a flatlander, and a leg pumping scramble to the pulpit. Nice view!

Wonderful Trail with beautiful views of the whitewater river. Hiked this the first week on November and the weather was wonderful.

So...almost exactly 4 miles round trip to Williams pulpit. When you see the sign, take the small trail to the left for the overlook.

Fantastic trail, beautiful views! But be ready for the final climb - it's a real workout!

Very cool. Perfect for my family. (Wife and kids 9,7,5 years old) nice high climb near Williams Pulpit.

We took 38 men from church for retreat. 4/21/16-4/24/16. Team 1 started at Upper Whitewater Falls and team 2 started near jumping branch. Plan was to meet at Burells Ford Friday night. Hiking from the falls down the trail to Burells is mostly flat or down. Hiking the opposite way from Burells to Ww falls is UP hill and very tough. Beautiful scenery (my second time on trail) but noticed many trees down from storms. Don't be afraid of broken trail marking on map as I found them to be more challenging and exciting. Bathroom is now repaired at Burells.

Awesome trail! Easy to follow the path, sometimes not so easy of a path! Just finished the section from Laurel Valley to Upper White Water Falls. It took 2.5 days (13 mile, 15 mile, 7 mile days) and there was plenty of well managed campsites. Lots of interesting things to see on the trail, lakes and waterfalls, and it is beautiful. While there are leaves on the trees not a lot of visibility but I imagine here in a month or so it will be amazing.

Did the whole thing in 5 days. 5 long days. It was amazing! From heartbreak ridge through the Chattooga river was beautiful! I will definitely do those sections again!
