Good, shady hike. I combined several trails to make a loop.

I started on the King Fischer trail- beautiful and narrow and following the water’s edge. But it quickly ends, and I wanted to go much farther.I backtracked and jumped on the Shady Hollow trail towards the Nature Center. This was my favorite segment of the 2 mile hike. From there, I took the Sierra/connector trail until I reached the Chestnut trail, which I took to the campgrounds. Finally, I walked through the primaries sites to reach the other end of the King Fischer Trail. When I come back, I will just do the Chestnut Trail in entirety.

Nice view of the lake when you walk the loop. Takes you out to the docks. Dog friendly. Steep at some points so be careful with small children. Otherwise good trail.

There is no parking. The trail itself isn't too bad, however there isn't much to see. If you wish to just have a nice conversation and walk this is the perfect place.

the trail is sometimes hard to follow it is closer to easy than moderate

I would keep this app up while you hike, easy to get turned around but a great hike through a meadow. When you get there I recommend going left at the trailhead walking through the woods first.

Awesome, casual hike with varying landscape. Definitely worth the trip!

dog friendly..awesome

Pretty decent hike if you're in a hurry. Only 90 minutes or so. Part of the route towards the north isn't accurate however.

nice walk, took dog. could not figure out loop, no signs. had to turn around at highway but still same distance

Nice wooded trail, not too crowded on a rainy Saturday morning. Agree with the reviewer that said it’s not very well marked - wasn’t watching the AllTrails map and ended up on a different trail doubled back, so had to improvise a different route. Nice stretches at the lake edge for the dogs to swim.

This trail is well traveled and heavily shaded which is nice. I found myself a little confused at a couple of the junctions but I figured it out. The trail also picks up the cove trail. I would hike this trail again but I don’t think I’d recommend it to a beginner.

I dont think it is open. gates were closed to this particular trail in the park. trails were not well marked and one part was completely grown over.

Fine trails on a nice lake, however the trails are very poorly marked. If you’re trying to do multiple trails you’ll most likely find yourself turned around a few times.

Nice warm-up trails to get day started or to wind the day down. I have began recording each of the trails in McDowell park with some basic comments.

Very heavily forested area with lots of sun cover, lots of insects, so many different types of plants and fungi. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who is passing through the area and has a few hours to stop in for a quick hike.

Great for an easy hike! Such a close and beautiful location to get a couple miles in on well maintained trailers. Not a lot of elevation change but you can go a good distance at a quick pace.
