The split rock trail is great but don't take cove trail, it stays underneath power lines in the sun and part of it is heavily overgrown.

Love this little trail as part of a longer run here at Latta

I really enjoy these trails for trail running.

Aptly named and so beautiful. I wish I lived here so I could walk these trails all the time.

One of the better options close to Charlotte. Solid hike, but nothing too memorable. Perfect outing if you live in charlotte and don't want to drive too far.

This is part of the extensive Latta Plantation Nature Preserve trail system. Parking next to the nature center at the entrance, I hiked the Hill, Cove and Split Rock Trails for just over five miles. The Hill Trail is wide and is often shared with horses from the equestrian center. The Cove Trail loops through the woods, getting you close to the lake in several places. The trail is filled with small rocks. I had to be careful with all the leaves on the ground. The split Rock Trail also gets you close to the water, and is not nearly as rocky. I really enjoyed the combination of trails on a beautiful fall day.
