Went clockwise from the parking lot. Good walk with lots of easy ups and downs. Not a lot of lake views but has a good stop with a bench by the lake towards the end of the trail.

Challenging start, a bit rooty but pretty neat run.

Pretty trail, and great for dogs. Kind of buggy - I prefer to do it with music in so I can’t hear them buzzing. We went on a Tuesday afternoon after work and saw 1 other person.

Enjoyed my time there -need to keep your eyes open for the markers as the trail is hard to follow in some places. Nice easy and pretty hike.

Trail not taken care of very well.

A typical local trail, nice for a morning out. Several private swimming spots to let the dog cool down. Forested and shaded all the way around.

Good to see this trail finally open after many months under water and covered in debris from hurricane wind and water damage. The park staff have done a great job clearing and still have a little work to do. There are several spots where you need to find the red blaze as with all the debris the trail tends to disappear in spots. Great access points to small beaches on Jordan Lake. This trail is more interesting than the blue trail as there is more access to the water. Saw and heard several herons that look like pterodactyls when they fly. Enjoy!

Easy loop to a historic tobacco barn, starting from the small parking lot next to the Vista Point small ranger station at the gate, the trail is easy, short, a bit overgrown and not very interesting. Kudos to the park team who have done a lot of trail clearing from previous wind and water damage.

I had injured my knee and was ready to try out a little hike to see how it would hold up. This was a nice trail. Nothing to really see until you get to the tobacco barn. The tail didn't go to the water, although I could see it through the woods. It was hot today and a storm was rolling in, so I just stayed on the trail and finished it. My knee did well, so I'm happy about that. Some of the grass is a little high in areas, but not too bad. I knew I had to come straight home and shower off the chiggers from the grass!

Nice quick trail with some elevation change. Nice views along the lake. Before Memorial Day the trail is very crowded on the weekends. They start charging to enter in April on weekends and then all the time from Memorial Day to Labor Day. When the lake was flooded from the hurricanes the trail was closed and now has debris and minor detours around fallen trees.

Great trail even when pouring rain.

The red trail is much better marked than the blue (easier) trail. Still you can combine the two and get a really nice hike in. Mostly shaded and the elevation changes make it a good work out. Note that you will be charged $7 for parking. Also, bring your doggies and let them enjoy as well.

So much trash on the trail!

Besides the cover charge, amazing trail

Trail is crowded on weekends and it costs to get into the park.

Paid a ridiculous $7 entry fee just to get to trailhead. Overlook was nothing special. Would not go again unless it was free. Trail was in good condition with a few blowdowns. Not many views of the lake from the trail in late spring or summer.

trail still closed

A great hike on the perfect day! A few spots aren’t marked well but between the trial and the app, all is good. The trail has some trees down to climb over but otherwise clear and not muddy.

Decided to run it. Great weather, nice trail

EASY FLAT HIKES on the trails in this area. Due to all the rain, the trails are impassable. You can still get the experience, and also follow the flood water line around some of the areas. I thought the flooding gave it an interesting look.

this trail is currently closed

Its closed even though their website doesn't mention that. Wasted an hour's drive.

I took this "wildlife trail' near the restrooms, to the left. It was passable, but still very wet. It basically was just woods. I did hear an eagle cry and saw 3 deer but they snorted and took off so fast, I couldn't get the picture! The Easter flowers were up and budding. Nice little trail but wear your hiking shoes if you don't want wet feet. This does not come out to the lake.

The trail overall is great. A little muddy at the trail head though. Views of the lake are amazing.

My favorite trail so far in this area. It’s rated as moderate but depending on what shape you’re in it might be easier or more difficult. Lots of up and down and it was nice being on an actual trail as opposed to black top. One downer is the trail was hard to find in a few places and was muddy in a few spots although easy enough to walk around the mud. Highly recommend it.

enjoyed this hike just before Christmas
