This is a great day hike! Bit muddy in areas and rocky areas more strenuous. The views are well worth it!! Bring water and healthy snack to enjoy at the top. For those of us that enjoy our dogs hiking with us, please obey the leash policy. ALL dogs are to be on leashes. My dog was attacked 3 times during our hike by dogs not leashed!!!! Please do not ruin this by receiving complaints to parks and possibly not allowing dogs because the few that did not leash their dog. Thank You!

We just took our 4 kids here and did the trail from Black Rock parking to the bridge. We then took the trail up to the first set of ladders. Beautiful trail and my kids can't wait to come back.

Awesome trail, we only did half of it but very advanced. Awesome view points and steep but definitely worth it!!

Beautiful trail. $22 fee per person to access which is fairly obnoxious when they close the trail well before sunset

If you're up for a challenge, this is quite an amazing hike! Even on a foggy day. I would have liked to see the views on a clear day, but I talked to others that had tried 3 times without better luck. Hope they didn't pay $22 per person each time. This hike could be done for free if you wanted to hike 9-13 miles from the other sides, either Daniel Boone Scout or Profile Trail. The drive up Blue Ridge Parkway and trails at lower elevation had amazing fall colors. I would visit and hike this again!

Very challenging hike but worth every minute. Great views and worth the work to get to the top. First hike to put me out of my comfort zone as far as heights and climbing/bouldering. I would recommend this to anyone but have to be in decent shape and leave small kids at home.

A good challenge to hike. I always say you know you're near the top when it "starts to smell like Christmas." The ladders and outcropping make the whole top area fun to explore.

As part of an out and back day from the Daniel Boone Campsite. Our band of brothers made this journey! No one is disappointed, everyone is worn out! We did a total of 8 miles round trip from campsite to the bridge and back. No tougher 8 miles in this area that I know of!

The leaves are at the beginning of their peak and this hike is beautiful. I wish there were a few more blazes but this app was helpful. Definitely strenuous but so worth it. Would definitely do again.

Trail is now open!!! Signs say permit required, but that is just to camp. A bit rocky at times, but overall great. It’s a steady incline with nothing too steep. A few stream crossings but are easily done without getting your feet wet. Storyteller’s Rock has amazing views! Well worth the hike up. There’s some great campsites for primitive camping also, but a permit and reservation is required.
