Hiked this trail 11/9/19 and recorded 5.0 miles. Fall colors were beautiful and saw 3 amazing waterfalls! Absolutely love this trail. Well maintained. Rocky/Roots. 2 small creek crossings. Nice workout. Saw all people of all ages on the trail. A must do!!

Enjoyable up and down trail through shaded forest and alongside the Horseback river for about half of the length. Spectacular Rainbow Falls this time of year as the recent rains have built up water levels. Tricky extended trail section if you plan heading on to Turtleback Falls not a long section just a short series of steps above the top of the Rainbow Falls. Note there are two short creek crossings you will get wet so wear solid waterproof boots.

11/3/19 Absolutely amazing little hike. Probably my favorite waterfall hike to date and I’ve done a lot of PNW exploring. Lol Pretty easy. Your incline is going to be on your way back from the falls. Follow the orange blaze on the trees, it is well marked if you do. A couple of small stream crossings with good sized rocks to hop across. Rainbow Falls is stunning and today I learned just how she got her name. No offense, but the pictures here do not do this place justice. Turtle Falls is beautiful too but not quite as stunning. The trail splits at Rainbow Falls. Left takes you to the lower deck of Rainbow Falls and if you keep going straight, you will head up to Turtle Falls. If you go to the deck, backtrack to the main trail to go up to Turtle. It’s safer and easier. Lol Pretty muddy in spots today, esp at the falls.

Love it. Wear proper shoes. Change of shirt won’t hurt if you’re bringing a backpack as mists from the Falls May get you a little wet. Enjoyed the foliage and the VIEW. Stunning waterfalls with rainbows!!! One big one just beneath the railing by the Falls and a smaller one on the walkway. Stunning. Will go again! Took 1:35 mins round trip with few breaks for pictures and enjoyment. Check it out! Def recommend and enjoy your hike!

Beautiful day at the falls!

If you only have a few hikes to do this is mandatory!! One of my favs it is rocky/rooty. Great visitors center w clean rest rooms.

Great hike even on a rainy day!

This was a wonderful trail and we enjoyed wonderful fall foliage colors and waterfalls.

The leaves are gorgeous right now! We thoroughly enjoyed our hike, but there was some blasting going on at the nearby rock quarry. We thankfully knew what it was, otherwise we might have thought it was a mini earthquake. Some people who hiked farther up than we had were instructed to turn around before the blasting began. We hiked all the way to Turtleback falls, so we were able to see plenty of beautiful views. This is definitely the place to be this week for leaves!

A small waterfall, big waterfall then medium waterfall. Some easy parts then strenuous parts. Recorded 4.1 miles overall with all 3 waterfalls. My favorite hike by far!!!

Very cool trail. Rainbow falls and turtleback falls are awesome. if you follow the trail to the end, there is a bonus set of falls. Trail is in decent condition. Some pretty good elevation changes for sure. Would highly recommend this trail.

Foggy before noon when I went but still breathtaking

The waterfall was absolutely breathtaking. So worth it!

amazing place to take your family for a advance in the wild. Water gets chilly but after sitting in it for a minute you'll be fine

Great hike! Our kids were a little tuckered our at the end but the trail has tons of areas to explore and beautiful waterfalls. I highly recommend continuing on the turtleback falls. If you have smaller kids, continue past the falls up further and there are a couple nice flat rocks for some shallow swimming.

Pretty falls. We got there early on Saturday and enjoyed the falls without a crowd. We saw plenty of people on our way back out so we were glad we went when we did. Pretty and shady hike to the falls and some stairs.

The trail itself is pretty easy. The waterfalls were good.

Awesome hike and both falls are amazing. You can cliff jump off rainbow falls to the left and turtle back falls is a slide even kids can do. Stay with children tho because we saw multiple cottonmouths, mainly at rainbow falls, one chased our 9 year old down and I had to jump in between them. Still worth it and we will be back!!

Great hike! Did a lot of exploring while I was at Rainbow Falls and turtle back falls.

This is a mostly shady trail and is very well maintained. The waterfalls are absolutely gorgeous and well worth the two mile hike in. There were A LOT of yellow jackets along the trail, though, so be careful, especially if you are allergic.

beautiful shaded gradual mostly gravel based hike to magnificent Rainbow Falls. Took us about 25 minutes. The waterfall is easily 200+ feet tall and you can go down to the bottom and swim. Keep going and stay right on trail for 10 minutes or so and you'll arrive at Turtleback Falls. Was kind of crowded on weekend but there's an awesome short rock slide that drops into a swimming hole. Plenty of places/rocks to swim on and chill around in this area. Will definitely be going back soon

This was a pleasant, well maintained trail and the falls were amazing. Rainbow Falls is one of the prettiest I've ever seen.

This is a great hike. If I lived closer, it would be my go to! I was concerned with the warnings of yellow jackets, but I didn’t see a single one!

Some sections washed out

Awesome hike! However, There were yellow jacket nests on the trail down to the observation deck at Rainbow Falls. My son walked through it and got three stings and scared the life out of me. Bee very careful (see what I did there?)

A few Yellow Jacket nests on the trail so be aware
