A recent relocation and upgrade has helped turn this good trail into a great one. Gone are the super-steep climbs and descent from the peak of Cox mountain, replaced now with more gradual and less worn new trail. My guess is the relo has added about .3 miles to the original, but it is all great trail.
Highly recommended!

Nice trail. Turtles on logs in river. Mileage does not include fanny ford extension shown on red trail map.
Easy to leave off with short connector trail. Quite a bit up and down. Rough terrain. Suggest older hiker like me (73) use sticks and good hiking boots.

I would rate this as moderate, not easy. lots of steep areas, rocks, and roots galore. very windy and cold today. will come back when warmer.

Very pretty easy hike! Particularly loved the portion by the river. It follows a beautiful section of the Eno river with pretty rocks here and there.

Great Views by the river. A detour so it’s a little different then the map.

Fun hike with a river and a lake

well groomed trail, great views of the Eno

Fun hike

Nice hike up and down a bigger hill. Little walk along the river on the other side and back.

Great hike, lots of time by the river. Moderate traffic.

Pleasant, easy trail. Not busy at all on a weekday morning. About half is walking along water which is very nice. Saw a big heron and turtle during our journey. Great low key hike.

Great year round hiking spot, can be a little too busy during peak hours in the warmer months.

I enjoyed it very much. It inclines, declines, woods, trees, the Eno River, maybe other bodies of running water, ice, snow, sun, shade, a bridge or two, and more.

Loved this hike. Good spot halfway for my dog to swim in the river. Very few people in January once you leave the entrance/exit areas.

Great!

Really well kept trail. Started off wanting to do cox mountain but went counterclockwise and missed the turn off for the rest of the trail ...just follow the signs!!! Was a nice short trail with a really neat bridge. I may take my kids next time. Would recommend

Nice flat 4 mile RT trail along the Eno between West Point on the Eno and 4404 Guess Road [at the bridge]. The Eagle trail parallels the MST near Guess Road; you don't miss much if you use the MST instead, as the MST tracks right beside the Eno and is more interesting. This is great for trail running and a nice stroll along the river.

Starting at West Point on the Eno, this trail starts at the bottom of the hill from the parking lot just past the bridge to the right of the picnic area. Note the trail is not well marked and some additional signage would help, but the trail has a white blaze until you make the short water crossing and take an immediate left where it becomes a red blaze to Sennett Hole. I was hoping for a longer hike and passed Sennett Hole - apparently not a bad fishing spot with bass and lots of bluegill. I started up the hill from the hole and found out it goes to a nearby neighborhood. On the way back I went to the end of the point along the sewer line, then backtracked to the same point I first made the water crossing and took a left on the South River Trail. All of the trails on this side of the Eno are short. Nothing to write home about.

Nice moderate hike with plenty of river time for the dogs.

Fun trail, decent elevation change. Terrain was moderate and trail running in the fall makes it very easy to stumble on tree roots or rocks. Be careful! I ended up at 3.3mi but I think I missed the 1.5mi loop on the back. I went counter clockwise and when I came to an intersection got confused and went back to the trail head. Either way, awesome state park.

This was a beautiful hike along the river. It was more difficult than I had thought (some climbing over rocks.) There is a long uphill climb, but it wasn't too strenuous.

Nice views and what not; however the Bobbit Hole didn't look as tempting to swim in as I had hoped.

Nice views of the river and a few decent places to hang a hammock.

Been walking a lot of trails over the past few months and this was one of the best trails I ever walked. Great weather and few nice relaxing spots to enjoy the Eno River! Will be back soon ...

Loved this trail, beautiful scenery and a good mix of up and downhill train

Awesome trail. I crossed the river by the swimming hole on the way back.

very good trail. not too rough but good for cardio.
