Easy, short hike alongside a brook that's doable for anyone. Worth a go to check out the lovely falls.

My bf and I had a hard time finding this because we lost all cell phone reception on our way there from Albert's Lodge in Burnsville, NC and even our dash mounted gps sent us to the wrong location. I would def recommend writing down the directions in case you lose reception. We ran out of time to keep looking for it and continued on to TN..

Do not take inexperienced hikers. I went with an inexperienced hiker and from the Craggy Visitors center to falls and then back to the visitor center took 6.5 hours. It’s a fun trail, rough terrain, twisted my ankle multiple times. At a certain point on the trail one of the many falls intersecting the trail consumes the trail. At this section I would advise to take your socks and shoes off and cross. This section seemed dangerous, there used to be a metal wire rope but it broke, and is hanging in the falls. This is the excitement the trail brings. Something to think about too is the view of the sunset from the craggy visitor center is spectacular. So plan the hike perfectly that you can see the falls and the sunset. But make sure to give yourself extra time if you want to do both. The hike is not easy.

Nice hike with options to make this 2-4 miles, with a shorter 1 mile route to the beautiful waterfall. Has a bench to sit and enjoy the view and take a rest. My husband and I did the loop, making this 3 miles total. The first .3-5 miles back were strenuous uphill for a moderate hiker but otherwise an enjoyable route. Be advised the drive is very windy for those with motion sickness.

My husband and I completed this hike on a warm, sunny day in the middle of May. We hiked it as a loop with Slacks Trail beginning with the White Rock Falls trail first. It took us a total of 2 hrs 15 mins to complete the loop with several breaks along the way. We are beginner hikers, and found the White Rock Falls Trail to be relatively easy leading to the falls, but then quite strenuous as the trail switchbacks up the mountain leading to the road. However, there were many opportunities to stop and cool off in the stream. The overlook at Priest Mountain was nice, also. Slacks Trail was fairly unremarkable with the exception of some beautiful blooming rhododendron along the way. We were glad to have a leisurely walk back to the car, though. To get to the entrance to Slacks Trail, you have to walk about 50 yds along the road to the Slacks Overlook car pull off and the trail is to the right near a picnic table. Overall, this is one of my favorite hikes on the Parkway.

Beautiful trail that is fairly evenly graded throughout the trail. Beautiful waterfall. Trail seems to be capable of washing out as there are some areas that have a small stream running through.

This trail has a beautiful waterfall at the end. With that being said... it's not for the novice or barely fit. The amount of steps that are involved in the hike was insane for me. I will definitely go back when I'm in better shape. ;-)

This trail is my favorite mainly because of the short distance to rocks and water! My daughter and I enjoy climbing on the rocks and exploring the creek life. Well worth the trip!

Absolutely beautiful. Get there early to beat a crowd. I was able to sit at the base of the falls and enjoy lunch before I saw another person.

This hike is moderate at best, not hard. The trail is all down hill to the falls. There is a small set of falls before the actual falls, don’t mistake those as your destination. The falls were full as we have had a decent amount of rain the last couple of days. There is a nice deck at the base for viewing the falls but if you climb the rocks to the right of the deck you can easily climb to the top of the falls, just be careful as it is very slick. The hike back up is slightly steep and constant, but the short distance makes it easily accomplished with not much effort

Short hike. Pretty waterfall. Not hard

Great little hike, perfect for young children.

Tough but fun and worth the view at the end.

Great hike with beautiful falls. The trail itself offers at least 3 things...scenic views, great falls, and some descent obstacles.

Awesome hike, lots of rocks to the falls, but easy. Breathtaking view of the falls, as there is a little bridge with bench to sit and take it all in. The hike out is straight up but then quickly levels and then a very easy walk out.

Loved this trail. A little busy and very short but beautiful.

A great view of the frozen cascades on a very cold December day.

Went the day after a rainstorm (2+ inches) and it was phenomenal. We hit a bridge next to what we thought was the actual waterfall, and were later stunned when we hit the real one almost by accident. Don't stop until you reach the wooden platform! Seriously, this hike was mind-blowing with that much water. The stream all the way down was rushing with white water. Highly recommended. FYI it ended up being about 2.5 miles round trip for me.

Love the rugged trek over stones and thru shallow water, up and down slate stairways and crossing bridges over flowing creeks. Stellar reward at the bottom with the beauty of the falls.

Hiked this trail today with my husband and 12-year old daughter and her friend. I’m not in great shape and the kids are not super active so I was a bit nervous about it but the trail is in great shape and the falls are spectacular! We loved it. We had so much fun climbing around on the rocks at the base of the falls in the mist and wading a bit even though the water was very cold. Got some great pictures. Made for a lovely afternoon. Arrived about 1:30 pm and we were done by 4:00 even though I am a pretty slow hiker. It wasn’t very crowded but there were a few other people hiking it today. I think about 5-6 cars during the whole time we were there. I would do this one again and I’m glad we went.

Managed to complete the trail before the cold weather set in. Kids loved it, great trail!!

Nice walk for the family plus dog.

Excellent route! It was basically what we were looking for. We chose to do it in early April. Although it was supposed to snow, we decided that this won’t stop us. The hike was moderate, beautiful lookout point, amazing waterfall and intersecting river in the second part with a lot of different landscapes. Everything you look for in a hike, even in a not optimal weather.

Great trail! The falls are beautiful, and the drive up to the trail has some awesome views of the mountains too

Loved this walk. A little treacherous with bad knees but persevered and well with it. Continued up the mountain after the fall instead of going back the way you come in. Good decision as the path is smoother is even though longer in miles it was faster pace.

One of my favorites.. downhill hike into the falls and moderately challenging up and out. This hike can be done rather quickly, but it’s always fun to explore the rocks at the bottom of the falls. We have seen copperheads so use caution.

Big payoff for only a short hike. Rarely do you get to view a waterfall from the top vantage point and this one doesn't disappoint. You really can't hike to the bottom but views from the top are special. I consider this an easy hike but it is mostly uphill on the return.

One of my all time favorite hikes. This waterfall is absolutely amazing!!! Worth every step. If you are thinking of doing this trail. DO IT!!

This is a very nice waterfall that is worth the short hike down to it. I would try to go a day or two after it has rained so that the water is flowing well.
