Let me start by saying "I don't like bridges". The walkway over the Hudson is beautiful and doesn't bother me as much anymore. I've walked it 100 X and I still don't like looking down from the edge. The mid Hudson bridge is another story. The walking path shakes with the truck movement and there are metal grates where you can see down to the water. It looks as though the walking path a 4" of concrete. Not enough for my fear of heights. There is a spot to listen to music made on the bridge which is very cool. The views are incredible and I would definitely recommend it to everyone. It's just beautiful and gives you yet another perspective of this area. Do it

Did the full loop and also completed Franny Reese State Park on the way. It was neat to do this as I've run the walkway so many times but never done the full loop. Everything was clearly marked and we ended up taking the elevator back up to the walkway which I had never done before. This will be my new running route!

Overall this is an easy walk, sunscreen might be needed based on the day.

Don't forget your sunscreen! That bridge crossing is long and in the sun! The west side of the Hudson has more shade. Great walk!

Did full loop. Sections tieing the two bridges together VERY poorly marked. Make a mistake on the Poughkeepsie side and you can end up in a pretty sketchy neighborhood wandering around trying to find the either bridge.

Beautiful view...

Loved this! Did this trail last year and one of the food carts had the most amazing candied bacon so I bought a side of it...so delish. The walk was great and we loved Poughkeepsie very much!
