A Crucial American Victory Here in the autumn of 1777, American forces met, defeated and forced a major British army to surrender. This crucial American victory in the Battle of Saratoga renewed patriots

Walked this on a warm and windy 240th Anniversary of the 2nd Battle of Saratoga. The grassy trail was wet from the morning rain, but was well mowed and presented no worries for ticks. The interpretative signs along the old Champlain Canal were interesting. Migrating warblers flitted about us as we walked along the old canal. Overall, a very enjoyable little walk in a seldom visited part of the battlefield.

A great bike around an awesome Rev War battlefield. Highly recommended.

Light hiking, and very pretty. I try to hit this trail at least once a month.

Beautiful. Historic. And a wonderful array of birds!

Went here in the fall of 2016. Nice trail that is fairly well groomed with one area where there is some elevation change. At the bottom it was a little soggy but that was the only hitch. I would call it light to moderate traffic as I went later in the day and a little later in the season.

We visited this location today and were very pleased with the trail loop. the hike was very muddy and messy which was to be expected as a big thunderstorm came through yesterday. I loved learning the history behind the battle of 1777 while we hiked the historical trail. Our hike ended up being 4.6 miles. We will be back for sure!

enjoyable experience

Nice park for hiking with varied terrain. The trail needed better marking in a couple of areas but for the most part, map and markings are easy to follow for first timers. There is plenty to keep you interested. I would go back.
