Super fun scramble up the crag and great views! Also plenty of Instagrams :D

Awesome but crowded, we waited a good half hour in the slot canyon waiting to go up the ladder in the summer

I suggest doing this first because the trail ends at Skytop Tower so you’re able to kill two birds with one stone!

Fun hike. A little monotonous along Cedar Drive, but an easy walk is welcome after the ascent from Stokes Chapel. Beautiful views! Took 3 hours.

I altered this trail and went to the gate house first then to the pond. It was very windy so I cut it short. Beautiful wide trails all the way.

Sweeping views. Easy trail for all ages and dogs. Spot a porcupine in a tree or a hawk hunting below as you perch on a sunny cliff made of the iconic and bright Shawangunk conglomerate minerals. Year-round enjoyment, in my experience.

Love this area. In the summer, they have stunning flowers, wonderful views, interesting hikes and climbs. Nothing too hard, but a lovely local outing.

Good mix of scrambling and easy walking. Gorgeous views of the valley and sorrounding hills.

Nothing short of beautiful! I have done tons of hiking this year especially and this overview was amazing! We were standing above the clouds looking out at snow-capped mountains while standing on the edge of a rock we just scrambled up! This time of year (11-25-18) the scramble had lots of ice and snow but that wasn’t going to stop me! For anyone scared of the climbing or nervous to due conditions just keep following the cliff face until you get to the easier assent! Either way enjoy the views!

Such an awesome experience! The rock scramble was intimidating at first, but the view is worth it all!

amazing views and the labyrinth was challenging but rewarding to hike

we wanted a short hike and I thought this would be perfect as it is lightly trafficked - unfortunately for us we paid $30 to have lots of familes in front of us and behind us wanting to do this hike. this is definitely a moderately to heavily trafficked hike. we ended up not scrambling up the rock face because of how many kids were already working doing so and it seemed like it would be a very slow process as a result. we met a bunch of hikers who were coming down and who mentioned how busy it was on the ledge. not for us.

Incredibly fun and challenging hike! Just be cautious going down as it gets a little confusing which trail leads back to the trailhead.1

this is an amazing hike, especially the first 3 miles which is where all the elevation gain is and where you are mostly walking along the ridge. there is rock scrambling at the beginning and starting at around the 2.5 mile mark, and it is almost vertical in parts - but all the views are totally worth it! and hardly any other hikers! the second half of the hike was pretty in parts but there is atleast a mile of stream walking which was a little annoying. you definitely need good waterproof boots. all in all a fantastic hike and we look forward to doing it again.

Great for an easy walk to a beautiful spot

Nothing I read ahead of this hike prepared me for the reality of it. I love hiking and rock scrambles and have done many, including the face of Sleeping Giant and Breakneck Ridge. To me, this was by far the scariest hike I have ever completed especially the last 10 feet until the top (Lemon Squeeze). That section took me a long time to overcome fear and persevere to the top. Once to the top it was breathtakingly beautiful but I cannot say I ever want to do this hike again. Still gets 5 stars though!

First time hiking and first time hiking on the Bonticou Crag Trail. I climbed the Crag! It was slightly intimidating at first however it was challenging and an absolute blast! The view at the top is breathtaking! I will definitely do this one again.

The trail overall is awesome. But it has a $15 per person fee which is very high in my opinion.

One of my all-time favorite walking routes in the Hudson Valley. Nothing particularly strenuous, as you're walking on carriage roads, but periodic great views, and the Mountain House/Mohonk Lake are stupendous.

great trail that runs the Eastern ridge of the Gunks, beautiful views especially at Millbrook summit. keep going to Gertrudes nose and be rewarded with even more Instagram worthy views :)

We enjoyed this trail very much. Great views of the lake and sky tower. nice and quiet compared to the more popular trails.

Favorite hiking spot in the area !

Great hike for days when you want to get out, but don't want anything too strenuous.

This is one of the best trails in the region. Lots of big views, light rock scrambling, and a pretty gentle but rewarding climb.

Absolutely loved this hike, the views are beautiful. I'm not very active unfortunately, and I definitely pushed myself a bit, but I did the hike in 2 1/2 hours. I highly recommend giving it a try !!

Went a little off trail for this hike but every second of the route was amazing. You’re in for some climbing so wear good shoes! Beautiful scenery and the overlook is outstanding. Had a great time on this hike, nice to put in a little work for the tops view!

Amazing trail and views. Challenging climb but worth the effort.
