Turned out to be a 10 mile hike because trails not marked well and missed blueberry trail turnoff. View from top is outstanding. Definitely sore the next day

Beautiful views throughout!

Beginning was an easy semi paved road. Towards the middle it goes off trail. Great views after 20 minutes in. Big lake in the beginning.

We didn’t have time to do the complete loop- started at the lake, took the red trail to blue and walked on the Castle Point carriage road. Easy and enjoyable walk to enjoy the fall colors. Stunning views!

Absolutely beautiful. I decided to also go around Awosting Lake (my favorite place) and have lunch on the point. The views are spectacular. Very easy walking. Definitely a must do!

I love this trail no noise, really peaceful and little long but it is worth it.

This was my second hike ever done, back in July 2018. I absolutely loved the views and it was pretty over flooded. Love this state park and would do this trail again!

Fun hike of about 3.5 hours. "Down" part of footpath has some stretches of difficult footing, boots recommended. Do the footpath segment first while your legs are fresh. Final segment is all carriage roads.

Easy hike in terms of elevation and little to no rock scrambling on the main carriage road. Options to stray onto various footpaths throughout the hike, which would’ve made it more challenging. There are some stunning views once you make it to the lake and begin to circle back around. At a point, you’re walking along a cliff side overlooking a valley with rolling hills and rising mountains in the background. Really beautiful colors, especially in the autumn! Half in the open and half on a shady carriage road, but so many options to stray. There were a lot of bugs, but some citronella oil did the trick and they weren’t a terrible nuisance. You will definitely feel it after this hike, simply because it is a slow incline, but LONG. Completely worth it, though. Amazing park and wonderful trail!

We took a 2 hour hike today along part of Millbrook mountain ridge..... The weather was beautiful as usual..... We did run into an adult copperhead at about 9 o'clock in the morning on the trail in the woods.... Believe it or not this is the 1st time I have run into a snake on the trail in over 11 years of hiking...... It is always good to be mindful and give them a wide berth especially when hiking with dogs..... I was really surprised to see one out this early in the morning however then realized he was probably trying to warm up

Beautiful day and cool, summer weather. Wonderful views in most of the hike. We especially liked the rocky Climb after the lake. A little too much gravel trail. Great for kids, strollers.

Great trail, easy to moderate walk. Great view of the fall and wooded trail. We did the entire trail in about 3 hours

Well trafficked and the lake’s beach area very well appointed . Did run into a rattlesnake, so would stay away from the foot paths

Great trail for the hiker looking to spend a few hours of moderate (easy for the seasoned hiker) hiking. Nice Views of Upper Awosting Lake, stop there to use the facilities and take a break.. The carriage path is kept up nicely. Castle Point Rock offers beautiful views of the mountain. a must see for anyone in the area that has a few hours to spend hiking.

One of my favorites at Minnewaska.

The trail is a bit rocky and steep at some points. I’d recommend taking the trail in and the carriage road out. The views are spectacular. Go early on weekends.

One of my favorite trails. Easy enough for a beginner, difficult enough to please the seasoned hiker. No rock scrambles, nice path, lots of bikers noticed today. The lake has clean bathrooms and a swimming area.

easy trail, great for kids as well. Beautiful falls at the end. well worth it

Not a bad trail. Took the carriage path the whole way which made it a lot easier to cover more distance. Would definitely want to go back to Lake Awosting to walk around it!

Path is still a river, recommend bringing some waterproof shoes/boots for the hike!

The footpath portion after the carriage portion was basically a river in February; hadn’t assumed it would be flooded as much as it was... so if you’re hiking it after snowfall and it’s sunny out, make sure you have a real strong pair of waterproof boots.

Lovely hike - definitely not hard but very long. Ended up being ~12 miles because we parked in the lower parking lot. Very busy - recommend getting there early

Skipped Lake Awosting, Did Rainbow Falls and the Shawangunk Ridge Trail up to Litchfield Ledge, Castle Point, and Hamilton Point Carriage Rd back. The cut-through from Castle Point down to Hamilton Point CR is a little hard to find and is a straight down scramble. Beautiful.

Beautiful moderately challenging and fun

I considered the trail moderate and very scenic- the Awosting waterfall is breath taking and inspiring. The creek it pools into is cool and refreshing on a hot day, though fall is now approaching. There are little detours on the trails that bring you to beautiful views. Some to little creeks, others to rocky ground overlooking the mountain. You just have to adventure and see for yourself.
