Mendon Ponds Park is the largest Monroe County Park with 2,500 acres of woodlands, ponds, wetlands and glacially created landforms. In 1969, it was named to the National Registry of Natural Landmarks due to its geologic history and presence of significant kames, eskers, and kettles. This distinct park offers six Lodges and seven Shelters, all available for rental. Mendon Ponds has many recreational areas; Sharon’s Sensory Garden, Wild Wings, Inc., a Youth Camping area, and a boat launch (non-motorized boats only).

amazing activity for family of all ages.

This trail was not marked well and after consulting a map, gps and back tracking; I ended up on the brown trail...then the orange trail. Grass path was pretty high and bugs unrelenting.

Nice walk but bugs were bad (since near the pond/swampy area). Lots of it was on a grassy path, a bit more than ankle deep.

Our first time hiking this trail - very nice, most parts are in the woods and/or partially shaded. A couple of sections are out in the open near the road but then it goes right back into the woods.

A nice trail to practice distance hiking on. Can get hot because a good part of the trail is right next to the pond and you can feel the heat. There is also a part in the full sun. But we’ve done this trail multiple times and have always enjoyed it. The fairy houses towards the end are really cool as well.

A bit muddy in spots. Trail wasn't clearly marked and I ended up on a different trail. Finally, I figured it out and walked the loop 3 times. Enjoyable.

Beautiful trail, but not marked very well. We followed what we though were the correct markers and ended up back at the car after just 3/4 mile, so we walked it twice. The 2nd time through we noticed a divergent path with a different color marker that we assume we should’ve followed to do the entire 1.9 miles. Very confusing.

This trail is a nice hike through the woods. You might see deer along the way and if you know where to look you might even see a headstone.

Pleasant enough. Forested trail, well-marked for the first two miles, then a Jeep road to a series of large clearings for picnics and ball games. Beautiful spring Memorial Day with light traffic.

awesome trail, one of my favorites. Saw 5 deer, 1 black squirrel, and 1 perforated wood pecker

Great trail, however I would consider this medium. There is a long staircase and quite a few ups and downs.

Great weather, great hike.I would rate a medium trail with a long staircase to go down.

Much of this trail was out in the open.Would like to have at least half in the woods.

Not our type of trail. Much of it is in the open and we prefer woods.

Combined some loops to extend my hike since it was so nice out and I wasn't in a hurry. First time here in many, many years. I used to marathon train on this trail. One section was quite wet but otherwise all was dry and even free of bugs. Saw a small snake that was unhappy with my taking a video of it.

Hiked this trail for the first time with my 7 year old son. It was enjoyable and challenging enough for both of us. I would definitely hike it again.

fun, dog friendly. ran into about four dogs off leash, most we're well behaved. some parts had a lot of roots but wasn't that bad. follow the green trail markers.

Absolutely enjoyed this trail. Ups and downs, wooded, ponds, a Vista, lots of wild life the time flew by.

Didn’t exactly follow the trail but it was still fun. Raining and some trails were flooded so we had to find our own way. Had fun!!

we had a great time on this trail today. It was challenging enough for my wife and I carrying our girls in packs, and it total whiped out the three boys

Saw a black squirrel today as I was heading south past Round Pond, very cool!

The loop was nice. Very easy, and only 4.7 miles. Too many people and roads for my taste, but the access is easy.

Hike this trail frequently with my husband, takes us about 1.5 hrs, not too difficult and has pleasant scenery in the summer. Well marked and well traveled trail. Opportunities to connect to other trails to extend the length.

Yeah, it's poorly marked but the right direction isn't too hard to figure out. It was cool walking across a landscape sculpted by glaciers!

I loved it but I definitely didn’t stay on the trail because I couldn’t find the correct one at times but I still enjoyed what we did on this beautiful spring day!

Good trail overall. If you do the whole trail, bring more water than just a small bottle. Description is misleading. There is no waterfall! NO WATERFALL!!

It seemed to be poorly marked.

Nice wide trail, easy to follow. We saw deer and many different birds including a pileated woodpecker and a blue bird. there are easy flat sections interspersed with more moderate hills. Very enjoyable and is on our list of hikes to do again.

Great trail for change of elevation. Only ran into a few people. Great for dogs. Usually see deer.
