Great fall hike with the kids. Fantastic views from the summit. But beware the road to the trailhead is treacherous. I wouldn’t attempt without AWD and good high clearance.

Magnificent rock formations! Also if you continue hiking around you will come to a trail marked with blue paint that eventually leads to a waterfall. Nice views of the Schorahie Valley from the top of the rocks.

Worth the hike! The views were awesome and so were the carvings. The rogue trail under the rocks was narrow, but offered a up close look at the underneath of the overhangs. It has rained a lot lately, so the trails were slippery at times, but manageable.

was rainy all day. found shelter under the bluffs in a couple locations. but the wet terrian made hikeing up the rocks a challenge. still very exlieriting and rewarding. The sculptures in the rock face alone are worth the effort to reach the top. be mindful if you decide to do this hike in wet conditions.

The is one of the northern-most Catskill peaks and a part of Long Path. Rarely used and with a great lean-to. There aren't any water sources nearby so bring all you'll need if you're staying. There are 3 great Vista spots from the top : @the lean-to looking south and east, to the east toward Pisgah and further on Windham high peak, and then looking westward toward the nearby Moresville range. I'll post pics when I go next.

The trail needs some signs so you can find the points of interest faster. When I arrived there was a couple leaving who hiked to the top and was not able to find the sculpted rocks. Since there were no sings at forks, I also did a lot of walking without luck. I ended up watching a YouTube video at the top, and got some guidance to find them. It was a really easy and quick walk, rather than the hike up to the top and going in circles that I did.
For first timers, from the parking lot, take the first right and go through a trail that is like a serpentine, you get to the sculpted rock quickly.
I was trying to retrace steps from other hikes shown on this site. But it didn't mention exactly where the rocks were.

Did this hike the beginning of April 2017. It was very cold and a little windy but once you got moving, you didn't notice the cold. This was a nice hike not too strenuous. The carvings in the mountain was absolutely beautiful! I'm very glad we found this place. ALit of history here as well. Got to hike and get a free history lesson while doing what I love!

A nice easy hike for the kids. You drive most of the way up the mountain to park. The trail leads to a lean-to. There is also a usgs marker just up the hill behind the lean-to.
