The top and bottom of the trail are very clear but the middle third is almost non existent. Walking up the creek I ended up not connecting with the top part and on the walk down I had to try not to slide down some steep leaf covered slopes to connect to the bottom half. Theres a few nice views of the surrounding hills but only one place where you can see water in the creek.

Great trail! Wonderful for dogs and kids. Several beautiful waterfalls

Simply put, You don't expect the beauty from the start. It gets better around every corner. The 50 or so foot waterfall at the end is well worth the creekwalk and mild rope climb

LOVE this hike and have done it several times. Wonderful in Spring when creek is running quickly with winter runoff. Cool, clear water and three waterfalls if you hike all the way to the top. Water significantly diminishes as summer goes on, drying up in the heat. Cool swimming spots at bottom of second and third falls. Some rope-assisted scrambling required between second and third falls. First and second falls greats for kiddos and dogs... would only recommend third falls for experienced hikers comfortable on a slippery slope and sure footed.

The trail is an easy hike but ends prior to the falls. A slightly more challenging hike awaits as you follow the edge of the creek to the bottom of the falls.

One of my favorite all-time hikes. Some scrambling, some ropes climbing, beautiful waterfalls, hiking along water the whole time, and no one else on the trail. Climbed to the waterfall where you can go behind it, amazing! There was another rope to the left to climb to the next level, but the area behind the falls was very slimy, slippery and footing to access rope looked sketchy. Only negative was that it was too short!

2.7 miles to the top. Camped in a clearing to the right of the trail. Beautiful fall hike. Small pond near the top also.

It’s has to one of the funnest trails I have taken lately. While it is easy during the summer and later spring, it was quite a challenge the second weekend in October. When I see easy, I expected a footpath or recognizable trail. There isn’t one here after the start. It is basically a walk up the creek. With cold water, wet leaves, mud, and moss growing on the rocks and logs it was an exciting and challenging hike! Highly recommend it. The first waterfall is great and the second is nice. But the real fun was trying to pick nice and safe places to cross the creek. Wet rocks covered by wet leaves are very slippery!! Be careful.

Pretty easy lil hike on a fall day. Great foliage this time a year.

Beautiful trail, especially when not walking on crushed gravel. Fantastic High Tor bivy area with lean to, fire pits, pond, bear box, & outhouse not far from Bassett parking lot. Didn’t make it to Bristol Trail.

Definitely not a hike for novices and/or children. There are plenty of spots where, if you slip, it's game over. Dead serious. I've seen a number of people up there with their dogs. Not a good idea imo. I have hiked it in the dead of winter after a heavy snow. Getting into the gully wasn't bad. Getting out? Not so much. We were all utterly and completely exhausted by the time we made it back to the trail head.

We had a great hike here the 2nd week in October 2019! Pretty severe up hill right from the get go but it evens out in pleases. Beautiful views especially if you take some of the smaller cuts from the main path. We definitely want to come back and do the lower hike which I think goes to some falls.

I'm an experienced hiker from the west coast and this trail was imo easy. I am used to hiking Colorado, California, and Montana mountain areas so if you have hiked the mountains this one should be easy and fun for you. I hiked both the trails, one up the creek/gorge into the waterfalls and the other on the path. The falls has a fun area with a rope to get across to the waterfalls, imo it wasn't too difficult. We didn't see anyone both times we went. Be prepared to get wet if you hike the falls, we just walked through the water the whole way up the falls, my dog enjoyed the terrain and water as well. If you want to stay dry or aren't an experienced hiker stick to the trails.

The first half of the trail is nice, but it is quite the climb.... about halfway we lost the trail and started breaking bush, made our own way and some how ended back on the trail climbing down multiple waterfalls with sketchy ropes. Definitely an adventure, AllTrails app helped out a lot!
