Do NOT go alone. The entrance area is a meeting place for men. We found a condom wrapper, a dude wipe wrapper and the used wipe all right near our cars when we got back - none of it was there before the hike. This was disgusting and unsettling...we will NEVER go back.

The tunnel at the beginning of the trail is frozen over and impassable during the winter unless you wear microspikes. The walk in the snow is worth it though.
With the snow gone, the trail will be a bit soggy in places for a while but we wear good boots and enjoy the rest of the trail. There is a lean-to and a fire ring if interested in an overnight stay.

This is a very nice well marked trail. We like to hike here in the early morning hours as you may encounter several deer and lots of song birds. There is a lean-to about halfway along the trail for anyone wishing for a added layer of outdoor experience. This trail does branch off as part of the Fingerlakes Trail.
