Perfect hike with my pup! We went off the map a bit for more climbing.

This loop took us 2.5 hours, great views & moderate!

its has good points but it also has boring points. enough potential maybe loop could b modified to b more interesting?

Very fun and moderately (+) challenging. Misery Mountain was a great little rocky highlight.

Nice easy hike with kids. The waterfall is definitely worth the hike, it’s at the beginning of the hike.

Decent trail and use of pebble road through black rock. Not difficult. Missed a couple turns but easy to get back on track with app. Lots of persistent bugs when near water - not surprising.

I love this forest! The trails are sometimes old in parts and the trailblazers are faded in some areas but maps are always provided and it’s not too hard to figure out where you are going. Trails are well kept and viewpoints are breathtaking. Love taking my dogs on these hikes because they aren’t too difficult and there’s plenty of shade for them

Nice views. Way to buggy

Lots of little black bugs and mosquitoes. Very little/no trail markers. went 3 miles with NO markers, didnt turn when we should have, came in contact with a rattlesnake on the overgrown road. on the way back, saw White paint on trees and followed that path. returning we saw blue and red paint! Markings on wrong side of tree! only one good view at Pine Hill (no pine trees to be seen). Good thing we picked up a trail map as the way we returned is not on Alltrails.

It was a little hard to enjoy the hike because there were so many ticks. Between me, my husband, and our dog, we pulled off about 40 (not exaggerating!) throughout the 3 hours. The lake is beautiful though and very rewarding to get too :)

This hike was very enjoyable! The view from the Hill of Pines was great! It's a pretty quick hike distance wise, but the uphills are strenuous as they ascend very quickly. Also the map and intersecting trails are pretty confusing, so it's easy to end up on the wrong path. Overall a fun moderate hike!

The trail is difficult to follow at times because of a couple intersecting trails and the blue & teal trail markers look too alike. However it didn’t feel like we got lost or too far off track. We walked down to the lake and took the White trail back up to where AllTrails had us originally take the Blue trail. Beautiful view points looking towards NYC and also from the top of Black Rock Mt. A little buggy so pack bug spray this time of year.

A nice trail, but only one great view at the top of Black Rock. A good portion of this is also located on dirt roads.

This is a nice walk through the Blackrock Forest covering 2 nice view points - one from Mt. Misery and one from Mt. Blackrock. Some parts are steep, but nothing major. On clear days, we can get excellents views of the Hudson Valley to north - Newburgh bridge, Stewart airpot, Hudson river

Challenging spots but not too difficult overall. Cool tree growing out of the rock at Spy Rock but not a great view besides that. Still worth it. AMAZING view on the 2nd half of the loop from Eagle Cliff!!! Very buggy - to the point I couldn’t really stop for much rest because they swarmed me including biting flies. But, this is nature!
