Great trail for an easy couple miles. Very narrow at parts with a couple scrambles mixed in. Keep your dog on a leash if you bring them — lots of interesting things to sniff on the drop side but no barrier.

There are 2 trails, anupper and lower. What I liked about the lower trail is that the path down is more or less a gradual descent. The trail itself is not at the river's edge, you are approximately 30 feet or so above. There are a few off trails that go to a scenic overlook. We went as far as the Lewiston Queenston bridge where at that point the trail continues on straight and also goes up to the left to the upper trail but both portions at that point seemed neglected and falling into disrepair. Ended up doing upper and lower trails as out and back. We enjoyed the upper trail better as you are below the escarpment and get great views of the layers of sedimentary rocks, plus towards the end of upper trail is a waterfall that flows from top of escarpment to trails edge. They are both decent trails but probably wouldn't go out of my way to do them again.

Trail was great! However, very confusing on how to get there as the directions from this app takes you to the other side of ArtPark. Be sure to use the entrance off of Portage road.. not south 4th street. The ending of the trail was overgrown, rocky, and very narrow and near the edge. I could not make it through the whole thing because of that.

Nice trail. Easy walk. Largely gravel with about five foot wide path. Nice views of the river. Easy enough for my 6 and 8 year olds.
