Arshamomaque PreserveLength: 1.1 mi • Est. 27 m
The Forest Trail at Arshamomaque Pond Preserve is less than a third mile and winds through woodlands dominated by oaks and hickories, but also includes birches, maples, and American beech. Arshamomaque Pond Preserve spans 53 acres of woodland and wetland habitats and abuts Arshamomaque Pond.
The Forest Trail and Main Trail showcase Arshamomaque Pond Preserve's natural treasures, including woodlands, vernal ponds and views of Ashamomaque Pond. Combined with its narrow arm named Long Creek and its outlet to Southold Bay, Arshamomaque Pond is the largest of the North Fork's tidal ponds.
