Very beautiful drive. Easy on my Xterra. The only problem I had was the cow patties everywhere and the low-life drunks who break their beer bottles all over the place and leave the boxes in the watering hole. Made me upset. Other than that, the drive was lovely.

this place is amazing ! Were first time jeepers looking for new adventures to conquer and this is a good one! I really suggest to bring a map or look at it on ur phone because there's so many roads that lead who knows where. luckily never got stuck but still got lost even with a map , lots of rocky climbing and hills and dirt roads!

At first glance this place seems like a bomb went off and the Quebradas is what you get after the explosion has settled. However, if you give the place a chance, I bet you'll be intrigued by all the geological and archeological finds. Since the Quebradas is such a huge place, I suggest getting a map to help you navigate the terrain because there are no real trails, but off trail hiking is not that hard since you can see long distances (pick a landmark) or choose to follow arroyos that many times turn into canyons. I can only give you a teasers about this place. There are several roads to explore by manual or vehicle modes, but many require a 4 by 4. There are several ruins to be discovered, including ancient cliff dwellings and Piro Indian Paintings, There are several nice canyons, one that has a nice arch and another that is made of Granite and is beautiful and great for bouldering (do at your own risk), There are even some interesting Sand Dunes where we camped between Juniper and Mesquite outcroppings with outstanding views. Oh and if you are lucky you can find Native Artifacts, but please keep in mind to enjoy but leave them behind, it is illegal to take them. Even I wish I knew more about this place but the BLM is very secretive and this really slows down your learning about the highlights but at the same time it keeps me coming back like a treasure hunt. Fall, Winter and Spring are the best times to go. Once it gets much over 80 degrees this place will bake you.
