Pretty, sweeping vistas. No petroglyphs. Wouldn't bike this trail again without a much fatter tire, given the rocks and sand.

Nice hike, pretty view from up top and lots of petroglyphs to study.

Not a bad walking/running trail. Petroglyphs were difficult to see. Much preferred hiking trail in Boca Negra. Pretty view and more petroglyphs.

This was a great little family hike. The view is beautiful and there was hardly anyone on the trail. 2 volcanoes are closed for restoration, but the hike is still beautiful and a great time and 1 volcano is still open.

This was really fascinating. So many petroglyphs I could have spent a lot more time just taking pictures but the sun was setting. Will definitely be back.

Nice little hike. Always a few tourists. Great for a quick morning hike. This time of year, the desert is in bloom.

Easy hike around the volcanos with decent views of the Mountains and city.

Pleasant and easy hike. The tops of JA and Vulcan Volcanoes are closed for ecological restoration. You can go to the top of Black Volcano though.

Very simple hike but exciting! Hike up mountain with Petroglyphs all around! You do have to weave into of black rocks watch your footing and wear hiking shoes!

Easy trail to navigate. Some inclined to get your heart beating but not too bad at all. This place is great for views! Beautiful area and the trail was pretty quiet. A lot of areas are closed off but those are mostly secondary trails so it doesn’t ruin the hike.

So much fun!

Always fun with the family! Can be quick and easy or a bit longer and off path too if you're feeling adventurous.

This was an awesome, gentle afternoon hike—if you’re into the geology aspect, it’s super cool! The views of the sandias are incredible too.

Wow, it was a great experience! I've read people's comments and I was not 100% sure if I wanted to take my time and come to this trail but I am glad we did. I brought my 2 teens during the Spring break from Colorado and this was definitely one of the favorite one. I didn't ended up following the trail on the map because there are so many amazing petroglyphs and I am satisfied. If you're not from the area, this is one of the must "trail" to go!

Good one to run..a little boring to walk.

Awesome scenery and art

Trail isn't clearly marked but the view of the petroglyphs is amazing!

Cool history along the canyon. the return path is pretty basic. there is almost no shade, so plan accordingly if you come in the summer or afternoon.

One of my favorite hikes to do with my dogs! Esp at dusk with the sun setting and the city lighting up. It never seems super busy at the times I have been there especially on the brisk windy days, which are oddly my favorite because it reminds me of Living in Wyoming

In March, it was a perfect time. A bit dry 2018, sorry New Mexico, wishing for help with your drought. It's an easy trail, first encounter with petroglyphs.

wasn't clearly marked, were we in someone's back yard? the dogs scared us. did love that we saw long eared rabbits, road runners, coyote & indigenous birds.

well worth it. user friendly

Nice, short hike with a beautiful view of the Sandias.

we really enjoyed this trail. I would recommend going in the early morning as the petroglyphs can be hard to see in the harsh sun.

Lovely, easy walk on well marked trail. Incredible petroglyphs!

It’s a nice walk and the petroglyphs are easy to see. The first 1/2 mile is littered with dog droppings. That doesn’t reflect well on the Albuquerque residents who are not following the posted rules. When I’m on a hike I’m really not wanting to focus on avoiding stepping on dog shit.

This is a great spot for a quick walk or a long walk and is good for all ability levels. I’m an advanced hiker but still enjoyed the views and activity. The petroglyphs have been beautiful preserved, it’s wonderfully that people have really respected them and left them as they found them.
Go check it out and please, continue to be kind to the amazing, historical petroglyphs.

Hiked this trail over 100 times. It’s my conditioning trail because it’s so close.

Great run! Mostly soft sand trails with very little hard packed dirt. Lots of side trails if you want to get creative. Lots of cool petroglyphs and huge Jack Rabbits!

Great trail that makes for a fun run. Went early in the morning mid week and there were very few people there.
