This is a mesa walking trail. The trial is poorly marked in some places, although, our all trails maps kept us on track . There is definitely some beautiful landscape and a few hoodoos too :-) we enjoyed our time here and took many beautiful pics too .

Trails are easy to access by taking 550 to Cabezon Road. However, a sign said the portion of the road through the Zia Pueblo will be closed May 1. Though the road was washboarded and a little muddy in places, we had no trouble in our AWD SUV. The scenery is very pretty. It is more of an open space than a trail, so you can explore whatever looks interesting to you. Lots of cattle. Also, unfortunately, tons of people shooting. We went on a Sunday and didn't hear gunfire until about noon, but it was constant after that. Also, shooters are extremely disrespectful of the land. Shell casings are everywhere along with a disgusting amount of beer cans/bottles and litter near the areas with shells. Hard to feel safe, especially with a dog, in an area with so much gunfire and alcohol.

Dragons back is a really fun ride technical in some places . amazing views.
