Hiked this Nov. 3, 2019 while on a roadtrip from ABQ to COS. What a little gem! Perfect length, a little elevation change (but not too much), easy parking and very well maintained. On this day, trail conditions varied throughout--some snow, a bit of ice (avoidable), some muddy sections, but mostly dry. Nice views, no trash anywhere, saw only 2 others on a gorgeous, sunny, 62-degree Sunday.

Great views for the ease of access. Did this hike on a road trip just to get out of the vehicle. Close to interstate;easy access. West loop more difficult trail than East Loop. Both well within moderate. Beware of elevation if you’re a flat lander.

Nice, easy trail. Not a lot of shade. Great views. The directions to the trailhead on Alltrails are wrong; they take you up a nearby mountain on a dirt road. Use Google maps instead.

A single-track trail in top notch condition. The trail is never too steep. Some wonderful views with little effort.

There are a number of spots I had to dismount to lift the bike over some rocks, but overall it was fun to bike on. The west loop has much more bikeable length than the east loop but still required some walking. Lots of the trail is right on the edge so please be careful when riding.

We were the only visitors to the park and hadn’t met anybody. The path was in a good condition, I really liked the view

The directions took me to the wrong spot. Just use your all trails map to navigate to trailhead. Started at 7. Good trail run and views. I was the only car in the parking lot

Nice trail to do a morning hike with your small family. The trail is well maintained and easy to navigate.

very nice trail, a bit confusing though. so this is actually 2 1.5 mile loops, east and west, at the middle point you can return to the trailhead or keep going to do the full route. I just did the 1.5 nice quiet trail.

I live in Texas and stopped here for a leg stretching hike. I expected the elevation to be an issue, but it was not bad. The views from this trail are very nice, not breathtaking. The trail is well marked and is mostly shady. Also there seems to be regular maintenance done on the trajl. I will gladly stop again when passing thru.... PS it was sunny, not a cloud in the sky, and 66F/19C.

A well maintained trail. Some really great views

When we first drove in it didn’t seem like we should even be there but once we reached the trailhead I felt a lot better about the run. Take both the east and west loops for the full 3 miles. Views were amazing and it was very quiet and secluded. Did NOT see any mountain lions (thankfully). Overall a pretty fun trail.

I did this for the Climax canyon 5k trail run. Great scenery along the KT boundary. We saw a mountain lion. beautiful trail.
