The trail is really well marked for this loop. Terrain is easy—mostly packed sand. Views from the river side part of the hike were nice. Bugs were not terrible. Saw a few ticks. Chris who works in the museum/gift shop was extremely nice, enthusiastic, and SUPER helpful. Would highly recommend!

Relatively easy access, pretty pond and river area.

very sandy fast pace singel track good intervals fun with the family !!!

Good family trail starts off real nice hiking along a cool wooded area along the lake soon as you get to the upper area of the trail it turns into sandy wooded roads which I wouldn’t classify as a trail...the scenery also disappears in this area with no visuals of the lake

Seemed a bit overgrown. Be prepared to cross the stream or start out on the other side. We didn't get far though as the bugs were brutal today. The girls were not going to last long so we opted for a slow drive down the dirt roads to finish the day. I will come back on a cooler day.

I have walked this trail many times with groups and I enjoy it very much. It is a great introduction to hiking. The trail does contain some roots and ground that is not level, so do be careful if this is one of your first times venturing onto natural, unpaved or graded hiking trails.

The Batsto Lake White Trail (White blaze/marker) is about 4 miles start to finish. The trail is shared with the Batsto Lake Blue Trail (Blue blaze/marker) and the Batona Trail (Pink blaze/marker) for parts of its length.
I've enjoyed the use of this path through the woods for trail running. Easy on the legs yet a good workout.

This experience for my friend and I was one of the worst of our entire lives. The trails lead to absolutely nothing but a fire tower, which while cool, isn't fulfilling for the large amount of nothing that led to it

A lot to offer here. My girlfriend and I made a day trip here last summer. Only downfall was how hot it was but luckily we were prepared. We decided to hit up a trail that was 50 miles long. We didn't do the whole thing but were able to complete about a 10 mile all-around hike. We ventured through the trail until it became a very narrow trail. There was a downed tree blocking part of it about 7 miles in. We could tell no one had been on it for a while. Regardless it was a fun time.

This is the main State P & F site for both History and Hiking. Large visitors' center, huge 19th c. summer home of the Wharton family and a wide variety of trails to explore. I've been going there since the late 1940's and have yet to explore all the trails.

There are a lot of trails off the sandy roads. You can spend several hours there or just a few.

This was an excellent trail starting at Batsto Village, there are 3 loop trails, red (1 mile, easy), blue (1.8 miles, moderate), and white (4 miles, moderate). The trails take you to the lake and back to the visitor center parking lot. We took the blue trail, relatively sandy and flat with just enough ups and downs to get your heart rate going. Beautiful scenery, too.
