I would recommend this trail for a beginner or family walk. Kid friendly and well marked path. Sand was a issue and lack of scenery change.

Great trail, well marked.

Nice flat 4 mile trail. Quarter of the trail was sandy. Good mix of open fields and wooded areas that dip down to the water. Quite a few small benches to sit and rest along the trail as well. 4/5 family friendly.

Great trail. End on the lake side for a spectacular view and to wander through the village.

Would recommend. A bit crowded but most people were nice and kept their distance.

Pretty and peaceful.

Relaxing hike with lake views. Plenty of parking, and the old abandoned village is in this same location. Easy to complete, we spotted a gentleman wearing khakis and a stroller with his pregnant wife, for context.

The actual trail itself was awesome very well marked. Then when it turns to a road it’s pretty uneventful and completely unmarked.

Nice easy trail. Hidden ruins were a neat find.

The lake trail was fun.

Been walking the Batona since the first of the year I prefer the north end of the trail but can’t say enough about how well the trail is maintained. I see very few ppl on this trail ever

This is a great trail for beginners. I had no issues finding trail markers. Awesome views of the pond. Little to no bugs at this point.

Really nice trail; I would recommend tackling the portion along the road first. Dogs liked it — the dirt roads and Batona trails are nice and wide, so no ticks so far.

very cool burnt trees in the beginning of the hike, and ends with views of a lake. Saw cute dogs and lots of green with the pines. great for a day hike

Didn't actually finish the four mile white trail. Took a wrong turn and ended up back at my car and decided to call it a day. Absolutely lovely. Looking forward to coming back and finishing it.

Flat and sandy. Surprise! But historic parts and bridge by old mill made it better than typical south jersey pine lands hike!

Breathtakingly beautiful trail with sugar-sand paths that start and end in the 1700s ghost town of Batsto Village. The history is great but nature beats it. We highly recommend this hike.

so quiet and peaceful.. somewhat busy seems like I always walk the opposite direction as everyone else lol but other then that it's a nice stroll thru the forest some trails are alittle overgrown but this time of year didnt have any ticks or chiggers so happy about that

route not entirely accurate, one bridge area impassable. 2-4 miles are uncompacted sand, making biking difficult. beginning of trail fantastic single track!
